Gambling with friends

Love to gamble with friends

For more than 5 years I gambled twice a week with two good friends where we always played $1,000 a game one pocket. We won and lost hundreds of thousands back and fourth and still remain friends even though it got a little heated at times. All three of us can afford to lose an occasional 10-15,000 so it was never a big deal but we haven't played in a while as old age has gotten to yours truly and my buddies think I'm stalling. Not the case, almost 70 now .

I have a friend that I only know from the pool room and I would say we are pretty tight.

I must be 1000$ winner, playing 20/50/100 9b and 1p. It would be damn near inconceivable to know the amount of games we have played and I always come out a couple ahead when we play. He gets hot sometimes, but never any trouble.

You gotta know your friend well, to bet anything more than a 5 or 10, I feel.

I have buddy that comes over and we shoot for a dollar, race to ten.
I would supply the drinks from craft beer, Crown, Captains, Ethiopian and Costa Rican coffee. And have even have grilled Delmonico's. , and don't even think of the cost of the drinks or food.
But let me lose that dollar and it kind of pisses me off. His dollars are on the left of the poster, mine on the right. He wont take them with him, Me thinks he's playing a mind game.

He leaves his winnings there for you to look at.
That's funny. That's what friends are for.

I have tried to make it a habit to only gamble with those who are used to gambling, who can justify the win or the loss and who do not make an ass out of themselves whether winning or losing.

When I joined the Marine Corps I abstained from playing pool and gambling for the entire time I was in.

I like to think that if you can't gamble with your friends then who can you gamble with.
We can still be friends... It's irrelevant . I look at as if they're going to lose their money anyway then it's better to lose it to a friend. Don't give money to someone you don't like

I like this it's competitive but friendly and you can use this as a scorekeeper in the future

I have not and will not gamble with someone that i consider a friend.

First off, i could never get myself pumped up emotionally enough to want to beat a friend.

And i sure couldnt enjoy winning their money, while they are feeling the affects of losing it to me.

I would only gamble in pool with someone i didnt know very well as a friend or someone i didnt care much about, This way i could get pump up (excited) and try to destroyed that opponent.

Winning a friends money wouldnt do anything for me, i sure dont want to be happy winning my friends money and him being sad losing it to me!

I gave up gambling with friends years ago after a dumb-ass
dispute over the number of games on the wire for a mere
$5.00 wager. I had won the set, but said "you keep it" and
walked away. We didn't speak for 6 mos., but are back to
being Compadres again, and closer than before.

I do, however, enjoy fleecing a-holes and wanna-be hustlers
in my local league..

Ring games with a $1 or $2 a point why not. But legit sets at like $20 or $50 probably not a good idea. It's funny though cause we have no problem felting each other at the poker tables but on the pool table things just seem different.

We have been playing this game for a couple of weeks.
A 3 player game that pays a buck per ball to the winner.

.

I gamble with friends. Same guys I golf with. We'll gamble on golf too.
Small bets... Buck a ball per man in the game above. Buck a hole per
man on the course. We pick up bar tabs for more than we win or lose.

We'll even bet on some ridiculous shots. Haven't made an enemy yet.
