Are there any other games that are popular in the pool halls you guys frequent? I recently bought a set of darts just to have something to do in between tournament matches. I am having fun throwing darts as a little break during practice sessions. I've played one game of gin in a pool hall before. Does anyone play backgammon or chess in pool halls? It would be nice to get some side games going during weekly tournaments

Darts has to be top answer. After that it gets murky... Golden Tee is big around where I live. Chess. Shuffleboard. Foosball for sure. Some video games are popular like Buck Hunter and the like.

You mentioned Gin, don't get me started I can't quit lol

I haven't seen a golden tee machine in quite a long time. It was big here too but disappeared. I love pop a shot basketball but the pool rooms here don't have games other than darts. Maybe I'll leave a deck or cards in my case and try to make some tournament break gin games. I've heard some rooms have backgammon but I've never seen it

golden tee, darts (entire room just for darts), shuffleboard (ten boards), poker, food, drinking, telling lies, telling jokes (mostly adult), general BS, oh yes, and pocket billiards (ten tables, leagues (8 ball and 14.1), money games (cheap), lessons.

Magoo's where i hang pinball has made a HUGE comeback. They have around 30 machines, have tournaments and even stream them. Crazy. Old standbys have always been dominos, gin, chess, backgammon.

You must be in Texas. 10 Shuffleboards

Video poker, they were such a hit...they removed all tables but the one bar box and added 2 more bar boxes.

Darts are the best, foosball second place, pinball 3rd place.

What kind of darts and how big of shuffleboard, 10 x 22ft boards would be crazy huge.

Almost……pinball is #1 😅😉😃

Having said that, I never really played much pinball at the pool room, a few pool rooms would have a machine or 2. Usually not the best games.

Darts were big in Sacramento in the late 80’s until sometime in the 90’s. I moved to Vegas then and don’t recall seeing a dart board in a pool room there.

We used to play 21, dice, pitching quarters to the spot or wall at the pool room.

Fun times
