Everybody plays the regular games, 9-ball, 10-ball, 8-ball, 1 Pocket, 14-1 and Rotation. It seems like most pool players are playing (out of habit) the regular games. What other games are out there and basically, how are the played?

A game that I used to play but haven't in a long time is Cribbage. You try to make, in a single inning, two balls whose point total equals 15. For example, if you make the 4, you then must make the 11 in order to stay at the table. Each 15 point duo counts as one point on your score. If you make a ball, then fail to make its complement, anything you make gets spotted. The 15 ball is left for last. Since there are obviously 8 points available on a full table, a score of 5 constitutes a win and you re-rack.
Kind of fun for a change of pace.
Does anybody know the rules about "pea pool" ?
I played Golf for the first time this past weekend and played pea pool also. This is how we played, there were 4-5 of us and everyone drew a number(1-15)out of the pea bottle thing and that's your ball. The balls are racked at random, except the one at the top, and it's played rotation. You shoot until you miss or make your own ball. If you make your own ball the game is over. When shooting if you make someone elses ball they pay you, we played $.25 for making someone elses ball and $.50 for making your own ball or winning the game. Everyone shoots in order and you are not out of the game if someone makes your ball. You shoot in your turn and if you run out then you win the game and everybody pays you for winning the game and anyone's balls that you made. This a pretty crappy explanation but it takes about 15 seconds to show someone when playing. Good game for 4-5 people.

its where you break a 8 ball rack like normal.
after that instead of striking the cueball to pocket other balls, you take say the one ball(if your solids) hit it into the cueball and try to carom the one ball into the poket you call.
every shot you have to try to pocket your ball by carom off the cueball.
played to finish like eightball.
if the cueball gets pocketed...your opponent picks wether he wants it spotted at the head/foot or center spot of the table.
its a pretty good game.....try to runout a table this way, it teaches you good ball controll....when you switch to regular pool youll no exactly where the cueball is going.
