Gene Albrecht beating Chris Bartram right now.

Its common knowledge that Bartrum plays better than Gene....so why are they playing a game that favors Bartrum(10 ball).....on Bartrums table.....in Bartrums home room...with no spot.....with long races.....that are the best out of 3 ...just in case Gene got lucky. The bizzare part being Bartrum is no stranger to getting a spot from guys that are better players. I don't have any ax to grind...but Gene never had a chance in hell. I'm not sure what the point was when the outcome was literally pre-determined anyways.

He said he wanted to play me even
If you were me would you play ?

Yeah, I almost talked myself into betting on this....I finally sat back, and said who is gonna win ??... and why am I so intent on betting on Geno ??. cause of emotion, that's why... Gene is a great guy and player and I wanted him to pull one out for all the old timers... but decided maybe I should just hope for the best and NOT risk any cash on it.... best move I've made all week :)

You always talk like you want to bet and never do
You said you like gene on the at table ill be in Beloit ill play him there

I bet when the game is good. I gave you every chance to give me some action and you dogged it :) For that, I thank you.... You don't play guys better than you even, why would I let you steal from me ?

So, if I don't have the best of it, i'm not betting... pretty simple methodology.... I don't need the money, and I certainly NEVER like to give it away, ever.

Very good shooting... not that I expected you not to, I just expected Geno to keep it close....

I found it a lil depressing to be honest.
For about 4 racks Gene had great shape and refused to miss anything,
and looked like he belonged in the same weight class.

But the instant chris put a little heat on him (around game 7 or 8 he pulled
2 break 'n' runs and maybe a third) Gene played like he was shellshocked.
Lost like ten in a row and it wasn't any ten-pack, Gene had his chances.

Think Gene's offensive game is pro-level but his mental game needs some help.
I saw 3 or 4 plain old give up shots where he started to run out then just blew
a simple 2 foot shot in the middle of the run. Focus wasn't there.

One or two safeties looked like bad decisions, and others struck me
as the right shot, but executed a little rough, giving chris the edge of the ball
or a simple controlled kick.

Anyway. I guess I'll watch again tonight but I'm not getting my hopes up again.
I just hate when the writing's on the wall only halfway through.
Despite all the negative comments, I'm actually pulling for you Gene. Give 'em hell.

Halfway through?

In all seriousness Gene just bought off a little more than he could chew. No shame in that, everyone's done it. There is especially no shame in that when your opponent is Chris. Gene plays good but Chris is on another level. A level that very few are on. It really is that simple.

Well..... I could have been a little off there :)

Age catches up to us all, just like it will you one day. And as good as Gene was in his prime, he's not the same today due to factors of age, health and whatever else he's got going on.

But he's out there trying to make other players better, and is willing to gamble with anyone that wants to, plays in all the local tourneys that he can... so props to him. he's good guy, and you probably figured that out after meeting him.

So, the answer is NO on the bar box unless you wanna make an offer I just can't refuse :)

Hey, Joey!!!!!!

Nice thread title
:)

pt..aimless in Seattle

Well, it did improve the number of watchers of the match.

What time does today's GRUDGE MATCH take place?

And is Chris's bettors really giving up 12 games on the wire for today's match?
