Genius Earl or Bartram?

Everyone keeps saying what a genius Earl is for coming up with the extended cue, but wasn't Chris Bartram the first to start using an extended cue?

The "standard" pool cue of today is 58". I think Chris was using a 60" cue, but it may have been 62". Even if it were 62" that is essentially only a 4 inch "extension". And I don't think he was the first to use a 60-62" cue. Sixty inch cues have been around for longer than Chris has been playing pool I think, although more rare back then and gaining popularity since. He may have been one of the first pros to go to that length of cue exclusively though. Earl is or at least was using a cue that was 70" long. He may not have been the first person to have tried a cue anywhere near that long, but he is certainly the first that I know of to use it regularly in competition and certainly the first top player I am aware of to use it at all. Chris of course can jump in and confirm/correct the lengths of cues he has used.

Chris has used a 60" cue for 10 years or so and uses a screw in extension that's maybe 6-7 inches. Big difference is that he's not bat shit crazy......

Did he start using the 6-7" extension before or after Earl started using the ultra long cues? If he was doing it before that is good info I wasn't aware of and applicable to the OP's first post. Thanks.

Before earl
But I'm sure neither 1 of us were the first
I use a longer cue so I can reach balls better
My shaft is reg length

If you were playing with a 6-7" extension on your 60" cue all the time (as opposed to just putting the extension on when you needed it for certain shots) and doing it before Earl then you are the first that I am aware of. Never heard of or seen anyone else using a 66+ inch cue full time before that. Not that I have seen or heard of everything of course. I think I have heard of one or two really tall players playing with cues in the 64" range before way back when but I'm talking more about long cues being used not just because of how tall you are or how long your arms are as in yours or Earl's case.

I seen the 0s he attaches to his bet #s, might not be "bat shit crazy", but it is at least 1 of the 3.
