George Middleditch, one of the all time greats and a man that encouraged me every step of the way in my Trickshot career, passed away at his cabin in Presque, MI. He suffered a massive heart attack.

Pool will never be the same without George, his laugh was infectious to anyone that heard it. Under his gruff exterior there was a heart of gold. He enjoyed life and I would be surprised if anyone could say a negative word about George.

At this time we have no information regarding the time of the memorial service. I will post the details as soon as I get them.

Please keep his family and friends in your prayers.

George Middleditch

This is REALLY bad news.

George was one of a kind. You always knew when he was in the room!

This one hurts.

God Speed George and may God Bless his family.

George and Jimmy Mataya and John Mataya were three fixtures at the Derby. I hope George did not suffer. He was such a kind person to all he met.

My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.

So sorry to hear this. George was one of the regulars at the Rack when I was ocassionally there in the early-mid 70's. He was an entertainer then and I guess he continued to be until he passed. RIP George.

He told a story/joke once at the Rack that I still remember: This guy was with a lady of the evening and when he pulled his pants down, she asked "who are you going to please with that?", the guy said "me!". Of course there may have been a few colorful words along with that .

RIP George.

George Middleditch RIP

Gonna miss his cocky walk and out-thrust jaw as he makes a trick shot
and says "Any questions?"

Charity event...late 70's
George did his famous 3+3 shot to a large audience...
...stole the show from Fats that day...
..next day at the 'Rack'.... got a big hand.
George's trick shots and Grady's impromptu clinics were always well
received at the 'Rack' between action games.

My thoughts and prayers go to his family.....R.I.P......OTB:frown:

My condolences to George's family and friends.

George was a good guy that always made me laugh. His upbeat personality will be sorely missed in the poolworld.

R.I.P. George...

George video?

Does anyone have a video of George doing a Trickshot show?

I have seen him off and on doing tidbits here and there but never saw him do a complete show.

It is one of the few things I regret not seeing in this sport.

I was close to George, he taught me alot.

I would very much appreciate this.

Not the best camera shot...George playing a challenge match behind his back at a northern Michigan tourney.

My condolences to George's family.

George used to work with me for a little while. He'll be greatly missed.

Rest in peace, George.

I first want to say how sorry I am to George's family. I met George many years ago in Alpena, Mi. and and the better he got to know you the more he told you. He always was the entertainer and if he was out of a tourney it wouldn't be long before he was doing a trick shot exibition for who ever would watch. He was always helpful to those who asked for it and he had a ton of knowledge. He and Jimmy together in Alpena was a real treat for those of us that do not get to see the champions play and best of all banter with each other and anyone else that would. I told him thankyou last year at the last five man tourney of the year this march that he always went to. I told him he touched so many people and they did love his shows and his jaw jacking most of the time he just laughed and said your welcome. He is a true character and will be missed badly.
