Get Rating From "The Ghost"...NOT

You can get a good offense rating from the 9 or 10 ball ghost, but not your true player rating. I knew many that could beat the ghost but their safes and kicking sucked so bad that they were barely "C" players in a real game. Today in rotation games defense is about 40% of the game. Johnnyt

Well, if one beats the ghost without BIH after the break, he is gonna play pretty sporty.

I think it is pretty obvious that a game that does not permit anything other than running out only assesses running out.

Yes, beating the ghost w/o BIH is a *****. Johnnyt

I would have never known that if not for your post. Thank you for that:)

So beating the ghost doesn't make you a great player? How am I only just finding this out!

And now that I actually read the OP, I think Johnnyt just might trying to bait us into challengig a statistic that he already knows to be fact.

He is a crafty old fart. Do not mess with him.

You see how he states a completely inflexible 'fact' in an offhanded manner? That is advanced shiit there.

Anyway, 38% of all statistics are made up.

But 100% of facts, are fact? This could get confusing. Where did I put my abacus..

Statistics are like bikinis.

What they reveal is interesting.

What they conceal is critical.

:grin-square:

Nobody who beats the 9 ball ghost in a race to 7 or longer with any regularity on a 9 foot table is a C player. I don't care how bad they kick or play safe.

I dunno, when shane or dennis puts an 8 back on you it's hard to convince yourself these games
are about defense. If a C player runs out a race to 5 against me, I'm just as broke as if an A player did it :)
