Sorry if this has been asked before....

I would like to have a new shaft made (simple black phenolic joint sleeve, no ringwork) of high quality and with a fairly short turnaround time. I would appreciate recommendations.

Thanks, Ghost

Get a shaft that you don't have to mess with for a couple of years. All my new shafts have the new Shaft Freeze, tapers to your specifications and a couple of weeks turn around.

What's your standard taper like?

I have any taper that you can think of. I have the earl taper that comes back 22, 20 or 18 inches the same size. I have a relaxed taper that comes back 13 inches. Parabolic that is like a pro taper. I have the break taper new and old. I like the relaxed taper to play with personally.

How does an ash compare to maple? Are their characteristics very different?

its a little lighter and a lot stiffer. Pores are bigger too so it has a different feel when stroked.

new shaft

I can meet your needs in a reasonable period of time. Visit my website for other info and email the business <triplecrosscues@yahoo.com>if you are interested.

I can build one piece maple (seasoned at least 3 years), Great Lakes reclaimed submerged maple (old growth), 30 layer laminated maple, OB-1 (immediately available) or Predator(ordered if necessary). Single piece maple shafts from 12-18 gr/i. Higher ring count shafts are additional expense.
Look forward to hearing from you.
