Getting Ghosted by ebay seller on Rambow cue

The seller went out of town for holidays and it seemed to slip his mind. Cue arrived today looks great very clean.

So I will tell ya I bought this on the off chance that it could be an early Peterson copy of a Rambow. I wouldn't know what to look for and from the sound of it I don't think anyone does.

If a detail oriented guy like Peterson was making Rambow clones early in his career and witnesses say that he was so good at it that many of them are mistaken for Rambows, I don't think we could tell the difference.

why would you do that? two ghosts and you still send $$? I like to gamble some but not like this. i guess ppal will watch your back. hopefully.

Wonder if this will end well and what the odds on that are? The internet seems to have become the playground of dope dealers, rip off artists, and so many scams that it seems like the risks outweigh the rewards. Mike has gone and set up a sticky warning members and guests about it. Personally I am very leery of transactions involving individuals unless I am 100% sure of their character. Anyway god luck to the OP, maybe he will get the cue and be happy, you just never know anymore...

Let's see...you were the only bidder, won the auction, asked questions that were unanswered and you STILL sent funds? You probably should have asked the questions and waited for a response before bidding. At the very least I would have waited for the seller to ask for the payment. I'd keep a close eye on this one. They are a new seller with only 7 transactions in early 2021. The only plus is all the feedback has been positive.

I have the feeling that the seller is sick or going through some drama and just forgot. I will give him a week then If nothing I will get my moneyback. I will keep you posted.

One good thing is no one on here has said "that is my cue" or "those photos were stolen from an old listing."

I did it because if this guy has forgot about his listing he might not look at email from ebay...I know I get 15 or more a day...I figure if he gets a message from PayPal that he got $1400. Maybe this will jog his memory. I can't lose if it's a scam I get my cash back so it's not really gambling.
If I ever decide to buy a used high end cue I will drive 50 miles north and see Cues blues in person to see what I'm buying.
Other then that um no.
I have had really good luck so far. I'm not overly active but I have been buying mid-high end cues online for 20 years. You gotta take the good with the bad.

Does anyone know who "Vintage_Cue" is on ebay. I asked questions about their ONLY listing which was the following Rambow.....no response.

I asked if they could please just reply to me so I know that their account wasn't highjacked...no response.

Do I send payment and hope for the best or is it reasonable to wait for a response.

I am no expert and could be wrong, but I do own some Rambows and some things say to me it is not a Rambow.
I have no doubt the writer of the letter believed it was a Rambow. Please do not ask what things do not look like a Rambow to me, as it is getting hard enough to keep people from changing things up to look more authentic as it is without publishing the things to look for.
I do hope your gamble on it being a Peterson pays off. That would be worth more than it being a a Rambow for sure.
