No... your the one all the time talking about one pocket... take your shots when they are there and hide when they are not... right???
but because I play 8-ball to win the game rather than runout every time.. I somehow became the "lesser" player??
I don't buy it. you obviously know how to play strategic pool when I offer up simmilar strategy in regards to 8-ball rather than 1 hole all of a sudden I don't know what I am doing??
C'mon man
be real with me
Reno??? And what's that supposed to mean???softshot said:Hopefully I'll see you in Reno.

Did I call you a lesser player? I don't remember that. And I go for the run in one pocket if it is there too.......but no, I won't drive to MN to play you.
You have a wonderful way to make your points. You also have a wonderful knack of not realizing that many people on this board make their opinions based on decades of 8-ball knowledge and actual 8-ball tournament experience across the country. Both on bar tables and on big tables. Maybe you don't know when to play 2-way, and when not to in all the disciplines?softshot said:getting out when its easy requires just as much thought as getting out when its hard.
this is pool... there is no easy.. and you ALWAYS play smart unless you like to lose.
play 2 way in 9ball your a genius
play 2 way in 1 hole your a legend
play 2 way in 8-ball and your a chump because the game is so easy...
WOW 8-ball deserves more respect than that. its a legitimate pool game and if you doubt that play it on a smaller table..

Apparently, your experience makes us look like a bunch of 2nd grade nitwits who've never played the game before, and never watched the best 8-ball players in the world play.

easy-e said:You are wrong. I never called you an idiot, you called me one. I gave my opinion on how I would play the table. Be as mad and rude as you like, it's your right.
softshot said:when did I call you an idiot?
I doubt it. You are rude. And you have zero discussion skills. How do you expect anyone to believe you are here to "gain knowledge." You say you read the entire thread. Right. If you did, plenty of players already explained their thought process. And you insulted us by insinuating and explicitly accusing us of not thinking things through, not taking 8-ball seriously, showing off, and selling out. Not only is it rude, it's a damn lie.softshot said:I meant no such thing.
if I appear that rudimentary in my thinking please explain how..
I come here to gain knowledge.
this is the right way. easy.Cuebacca said:6, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 8.![]()

So, if insults are all you understand, then I've got one for you. You're 8-ball strategy is pretty weak. You want to gain knowledge? Read Jude's, CrownCityCorey's, and yes, even my full explanation of why we chose the patterns we chose. If you disagree, that's fine. But don't for one second think we don't know much of the ins and out of 8-ball strategy. You'll notice that my pattern pretty much doesn't match 100% with anyone else's, but I put a good reason why it doesn't. Without insulting other people's patterns.
Fred <~~~ 8-ball strategy is my middle name (my parents were just weird)
softshot said:you might learn something about how to play pool
then again you might not you do seem pretty dense..
that was a pissing contest.. and (not to sound like a third grader but) he started it.. he might not have disagreed with what was said .. he disagreed with who said it... meeasy-e said:Tell me how this statement is just "direct", and not meant to be rude.
This isn't a bad thing. You seem to understand the concept of selling out. The thing that might be escaping you is that your opponent has already sold out by leaving this wide open rack. He ran 7 balls and not 8. This is what we 8-ball players live for: to get to a wide open rack so that we can run out.softshot said:when you sink the two center balls you HAVE sold out.. the back up plan is gone.. you are now FORCED to run out
Then step back and learn. The middle two balls need to be off the table if you've got ball-in-hand. Read my other post (and most everyone else's post) why. It's guideline rule #1.don't hold it against me I really do come here to learn about pool.

I tried not to get caught up into it but I did and I tried to end it as soon as I realized what it was and thats that
