Gina & Tad value??

I have an old titleist based Gina that I bought used in 1969 and a Tad that I ordered from him in his Stanton shop in the early 80's. I played a lot of pool in those days but now play 3-cushion occasionally (with a nice Schuler) and pool even more occasionally. I took a few (very poor) pictures of them which I have attached and am curious what their current value might be.

The Gina has 2 shafts, neither of which I can be sure are Gina shafts since I bought the cue used, although I believe they are (I also have several more Gina shafts that I think are real but do not match the butt). The Tad has the 2 shafts that I got with the cue.

I know this forum has lots of people whose opinions I would appreciate.

Thanks,

Joe

Vass you are deslexick

Your Gina minimim $3200.00 your Tad minimum 1500.00
Nice cues!
Nick :)

Not for that Gina

I think alot of high end collectors including Casey will be thinking about owning one more Gina even though they are not even in the market at all!
Nick :)

What about particulars?

What is the weight of the butt? Does the butt and shafts roll true?
What are the ferrules made of along with their size? Are there any cracks or blemishes on the joint or ferrules? How can anyone assess a value without knowing the overall condition of the cue. Sounds like a 75% cue
especially if the shafts are not original and Ernie would know for sure! A letter of authenticity would help greatly in determing value. Any tings in the hit of the cue?

Well

Like I said if it is mint and under 20 ozs you may have to pay way more- way way more! My guess is any weight and at least one of the two shafts straight shaft and straight butt. Minimum!!
Nick :)

I Am Not Sure How Anyone Can Give An Accurate Estimate Given The Information In The Post. One Shaft On The Gina Looks To Have Been Repaired In The Middle, No One Knows If It's Straight. Shaft Sizes Are Unknown. This Is A Crapshoot, More Of A Guess At A Price, Than An Actual Estimate Of Value. Anyone Posting Here, Should Be Careful. I Know We're Trying To Help A Fellow Azer, But With This Info It's Better To Not Venture A Guess.

Yup!

Marcus knows best!

You wont like my opinion...

Its worth what it will sell for.

No more, no less.

So if someone tells you it is worth 3500 or whatever, then wont buy it for that number it is bull$hit.

I love these "experts".

So we should just tell this guy to go pull a figure out of the air? He is just asking a question to get a ballpark figure.

My comment is only my personal opinion of the value of these two cues. Nothing more.

Ken, by your comment, if this were the Gus that just sold on ebay, if I gave my personal opinion of the value of the cue at $40,000, it is a BS opinion if I don't have the money to buy it? I missed your logic.

My opinion is based upon what I would pay if the cue were straight and in good condition if I had the money to buy it. The fact that I am not GOING to buy it doesn't change my personal opinion of its value.

I think the gina is where everyone is hitting iT I think whole sale is 2800.00 and retail about 3900.00 and real money would be somone where in between . Just let your family know what you have so unscruplous people will not try to steal it!. Insurance value i would put at 5000.00 because it cannot be reproduced. and all these values are subject to condition and straight ness. I think you have a real keeper there!

You have a good point too.

Well, you make a good point. I just get tired of people who do not buy cues but get on here and become an expert on pricing. Someone tells them that this cue is worth $5k and now that becomes the asking price. Then when you try to buy it, they get in their head this unbelievable price which the cue would NEVER bring.

But you make a good point of it does have a value, and he asked for opinions, and I was out of line, for that I appoligize.

I have a friend that got a $600 Meucci and he now wants me to sell it. He wants $500 for it. Yes it is well played. Try to explain that one away.....

Best of luck,

Ken

Thanks to all who replied....Gina & Tad value

Thanks to everyone for their opinions, and I realize they are nothing more than that. My brother was actually the owner of the Gus box cue that sold for 55.1 on ebay which is what got me digging in my cases.....however I am very realistic and understand the VERY special nature of that cue. I have posted in the cuemaker forum wondering if I should refinish mine, but I think the estimates expressed regarding it's value were helpful and accurate guesses given the limited information I gave. I don't know if Ernie or Tad will refinish them for me or what they would charge, but I don't expect to be selling them in the near future.

Thanks again to all,

Joe

Ernie will i was in his shop yesterday. he is working full time recently, he is pretty fired up recently and doing GREAT work. I dont know about Tad but I'd guess Ernie would probably do both-thats just a guess, but his cue 100% he'll do it.
