I've got a 1 of 1 Goncalo Alves Southwest with ivory trim rings. This is the only solid nosed ivory trim ring cue SW has made. The pin is 367-07. If features a smooth black leather wrap. One shaft has some play on it and the other is very, very light play. Shafts have Kamui medium tips.
The vitals are:
Butt 14.9 oz
Shaft 1 3.7 oz 13.14mm
Shaft 2 3.8 oz 13.17mm

CUE IS SOLD...

No problem Smokey...this is not a satin cue. This is a solid nose Goncalo Alves SW with ivory trim rings. I talked to Laurie Franklin about it when I first got it. She said it was a custom order by a dear friend of hers and she was actually surprised to see it in someone else's hands. It has two shafts and a serial number on the pin. It has not been refinished. It was made last year in 2007. I hope this helps, and let me know if you're interested...Thanks, Terry

hi RackRunner,

thanks for the info. i don't know where i've been all these years, but i never saw a sw like that, are there many designed that way? i love great wood and simplicity in design and this cue has both. and to make it worse it is just to the high side of weight i like, but the pity is i'm a lot over budget on 2 customs being made right now.

it's a beauty though and thanks for the info,
smokey

Dennis...I remember when that Pau Ferro cue was up for sale I almost bought it myself, very nice cue. I really like these solid nose SWs...they play a ton.

It replaced my purpleheart Ed Young as my playing cue with no lag time. It took no getting used to.

I have since picked up another DPK that I tried moving into the starting rotation, but the SW won't let it happen. Very solid.

Do

What's your SW like? I don't recall seeing any pics of it.

That is a handsome cue! I am unfamiliar with your terminology "solid nose". Does that mean that the joint pin is set into phenolic rather than wood? In other words, the joint end of the butt is solid phenolic rather than a phenolic collar surrounding wood. Sorry, I can't tell from the pics. TIA
