Good Examples of "X has Y's number"?

Sometimes you hear people say that "so-and-so player has your number" meaning that he's really not a better player but he just tends to win you. For example, someone said to Chris Bartram that "Orcollo has your number". Now, this is clearly not the case as Chris has won Orcollo and Orcollo is a better player based on any objective metrics. There have been couple of other posts, which to me have proved to be similar: the player accused of "having someone's number" turns out to be the better player overall.

The objective merit I've used is Mike Page's Fargo Ratings. It's based on past tournament results, which has its own shortcomings. But I'm willing to argue that Fargo Rating is a better source of information than most people's "expert opinion". For an example, at the time of the Mika - Shane match people were talking how this sort of cash game is so different from tournament play. However, the final result reflected their tournament performance pretty accurately. (Even though Mika's finishes were better, Shane's rating was better.) Shane won, because he was a better 10-ball player at the time. Not (necessarily) because he's a better cash game player.

Now, does anyone have good examples of a player who consistently beats another player even if the underdog is a better player against other players? I'm talking about known professional players, because we have data on those people.

maybe

Maybe corey against mika. Corey skunked mika in the finals in the us open a couple.years back and he also beat him in this past years open and beat him in the mosconi cup. Im not sure who is the superior player but im a corey fan. Very diffent strokes but corey all the way.

Just my opinion which is probably not worth much.

Takeshi Okumura has (had) Bustamante's number down. I don't think Bustamante has ever beaten him in a tournament.

Good point. If not for Corey, Mika (2 time US Open champ),would have won at least 3, probably 4 US Opens, and Corey directly cost him 2 of those.

There's little doubt that Mika is the better player, but it's hard to play someone who has goose-egged you on TV in the past.
