I read a very interesting article a few months back about how one of the major sites had admins that could see all hands at the table.. then would communicate with someone at the table via cell and split the profits. This guy imparticular had something like 20 tables going at once with this trick.SpiderWebComm said:Do you think online poker is fixed? I've taken some very peculiar beats lately. What do you think, since you play a lot of it?
Fatboy said:nice thread, i'm gonna stay at home, and work on the phone-my normal gig. If i can get out of bed today i'm gonna play some pool-i'd be happy with an hour of pain free pool. Yesterday I couldnt get out of bed i have been in bed for the past 40 hours except to get a soda pop or a water and a quick shower.I hope you and the rest of the crew here has a great day today. And tonight i'm gonna sweat the TAR feed!!!!!

As a software programmer, I can tell you with great certainty that unless a site has the long arm of the FTC looking over their shoulder like we have at banks, then cheating is almost inevitable.
I wouldn't worry so much about the company cheating you, but rather the devs and admins within the company cheating you. It's rarely the geeks writing the code who profit the most from legitimate business.corvette1340 said:this was on Absolute poker I believe, which is one of the smaller sites. I have played on Absolute as I have played on almost all sites at one time or another. The big ones like Pokerstars and FullTilt have no incentive to cheat the players. They are making millions a day in rake. They would definitely not compromise a legitimate business that clears hundreds of millions to nickle and dime certain players. The bottom line is that the best players win over the long run. There will also be bad beats. You are going to have bad beats whenever idiots are playing and drawing at everything. You just have to have the means to outlast the variance.

Tonight I plan on bundling up by the fire with some chicken soup and a big side dish of TAR!
MM...where abouts in No Va are you Purd? I live and play in Herndon (Breakers)
Hambone said:Good morning Don, I'll be playing with the kids most of the day and trying to sneak in a little practice on the table. Gotta work tonight so I'll try and snooze a few hours too.
MikeM said:Twenty-seven years! Congratulations. And a pool playing wife to boot. Lucky man.
I've had this cold on and off for about seven weeks now. Really driving me crazy. When (if) I get rid of it we'll have to hook up at First Break and hit a few.
