i didnt start this thread so single anyone out for the record. i was thinking to myself, what would i do as the seller.....and i didnt have an answer. so i thought i would let AZB decide.

FAST-N-LOOSE is one of the if not the most respected seller on these forums. i did not do this to stir up crap. i did it because it was a weird situation and wanted feedback from the community. period.
JMO this whole deal should have been done by pm or email. Not aired out to everyone in a open forum. Who have nothing but opnions on what 2 other people should do! Let them settle this on their own. What a say guys-let this one die.

Marcus,

I just want to apologize if my earlier comments seemed harsh. I know you're one of the good guys on here and sometimes even the good guys get into situations.

Just offering to cover 1/2 the loss is more than some folks would do.

You're a true gentleman and I would do business with you anytime.

Jim

what the seller is saying that how would he know if the buyer did not received the tips? he has no proof at all that the tips are received.

that works on both sides, the buyer doesnt know if the tips were shipped either as there is no proof of it. it's unreasonable to make the buyer prove that he didnt receive the tips if the seller cant prove they were shipped. its the same reason why when u do a chargeback on a credit card, the credit card company goes after the seller to provide proof that the item was shipped. if it turns out he can provide proof then u're the one thats in trouble for lying.

that was why my initial offer was to cover half the loss....... Can't prove either side.

Doesn't matter. He'll be getting four replacement tips, and i learned a lesson....... I'll only be selling the tips in the future in larger quantity with insurance, or the buyer will have to aknowledge that they are liable if the tips don't arrive.

This is just my opinion.....Things happen...and here lately on here, it seems that bad things are happening more and more. I have dealt with Marcus....never had a problem....

If insurance was offered.....and it was not taken.....then it is the buyers loss.....I dont think marcus would put a bad mark on his stellar reputation over 20.00 worth of tips...its just not gonna happen...Marcus has offered to make it good...but he shouldnt have to eat the 20.00

If you go buy a car and dont get insurance on it, you wreck it...its your fault...not the car lots fault...

This is pretty cut and dry to me...

What in the WORLD was a thread started over this for..I think if you would have talked to Marcus about it things would have been solved....

This is a freakin joke,,,,,,buyer did not pay for the insurance,done...bottom line.....why start a thead and try to bash a highley respectible az'er?... Waste of time......if the seller agreed to work it out in private then be done with it.

Let me say this.. if a buyer opts out of the insurance for the extra few bucks and they get lost.. HE is responsible. We ship a lot of cues overseas, almost every buyer say's "please put 100-200 dollars so I don't have to pay duties.. well let me tell you,. the Fed Ex or whomever eats the cue, they the buyer, loses. Because they opted for the lower "price" to save themselves a few dollars. At no time should someone else's frugalness cause anyone else anything out of pocket.

If you're cheap.. YOU take the chance. Talk about people who want it both ways.. pool players... :frown:

yes but in that situation u can prove that it was shipped. thats why i make it a point to get some sort of confirmation requirement or tracking number on everything i send. if the buyer opts out of insurance, i am not responsible for damage or lost mail. but i still am responsible to prove that the package was shipped.

marcus did the right thing offering to half it.

I bought 20 wizard tips sent money order recieved the tips less than a week later no problem I think you should wait and let the post office finally deliver them. Hey after all it is the goverment. I really don't think you have a problem with the seller.

Lost tips....

I honestly would just be patient....I order stuff all of the time from cue components and it always take two weeks or so.....

But then again if the insurance was passed on what can you do.....?????:sorry:

wait...

Two transposed zip code numbers delayed the arrival by just over 4 weeks of some tips I sent recently. Two weeks is too early to tell. It was my address error. I sent more and asked if they arrived to send them back. That is what the gentleman did.

I have some good news and some bad news. First the good news. After you give the post office 30 days to deliver, you can request they start a trace and they can find out where they got to and hopefully they would find the package and get it moving from that point forward.

The bad. . .In general, on the internet, when insurance is offered, even at a stupid high price(this offer was not), and you refuse, then it is your fault. If none is offered, then it is considered split responsibility and a half refund or reorder is done. If the seller says no to insurance, then they need to get the product to you, period.

In my opinion Fast_N_Loose is making it right and this should have been allowed to take it's course in a private matter. Since it's public my thoughts on the matter are insurance offered and declined . . . buyers loss. However, I would always send with a proof of delivery receipt just to prove it arrived or did not. It's a tough deal but lucky it was for a few tips and not a more expensive item. FNL is standing up and doing the right thing so we should let it roll off page 1.

I can prove I shipped everything I ship.. just put it on a cc.. or get a receipt. Marcus did the politically correct thing, not necessarily the "right" thing. The problem I see here is he'll never know which is the truth, did the guy get them, does he get them in a week, what if they come a month from now..that's the problem I see with the whole situation, all for the lack of insurance which was NOT his problem.

Brought some tips from Marcus starting last year end and I waited almost 3 -4weeks for it to arrived here in Singapore. I believe USPS is a bit slow on delivering small packages, so far no problem with cues. Marcus is a 100% guy.

Snookered <=== wait longer

Those tips with insurance were/are still a great deal. Either way give it some time, and try to work things out behind the scenes, if something like this ever occurs, again.

Marcus, I've read all 4 pages of this thread so far. The way you have resolved this issue makes me an even more confident customer of your's. I will not hesitate to order from you again in the future, with or without insurance I know that my order will be backed up fairly by a reputable seller.
