Perhaps someone can help answer this. Does Gorilla glue ( white fast set) have a shelf life, as some glues do ???

If it's a polyurethane type it will more so after the seal has been broken.
Moisture is the activator....once the bottle has been opened to the air it starts it's curing process. I've found this out from experience. Even tried the squeeze the air out of the bottle before resealing and it didn't help.
I found it is better to pay a little more and get the smaller bottles and try to use it up as fast as you can.

<~~~don't use much of it anymore.............

I have a bottle of the dark quick set thats around a year old I believe...no problems...I just have to make a new hole in the nozzle if it sits for a month of so. Seems the nozzel sets up and kind of preserves the rest. But yes...buy the smallest possible bottle. The white comes in a tiny bottle...so if you are going to use a lot of it then just buy several bottles & you'll have no issues.

I aggree, get a smaller bottle when possible. I haven't used the white yet, but the regular kind always hardens up in the bottle on me, and most of it gets wasted anyhow. If I could just clean the nozzle, then that wouldn't be too bad to deal with, but the entire bottle hardens, and all I can do is buy a new one. From My experiences even something like epoxy has a longer shelf life.

OK....What do you use?

For which op? I'm guessing you are using it for tips?
I've used titebond blue for tips since day one.
Also tried the white titebond which dries clear and have had good results.

GG is great for cored forearms. It expands and completely fills any gaps. IMO, that's it's best and almost only application in cue building. Other adhesives are just better for other scenarios like tips, ferrules, pins, butt sleeves, etc.

Generally that information is in a Technical Data Sheet (TDS) or a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and should be available at no charge from the manufacturer.

Just briefly looking, the MSDS doesn't list a shelf life.

The FAQ page has some info, but no definitive shelf life specification (at least in the questions I looked at). Basically they say as long as it's in liquid form, it is still good.

I'm sure someone there has a definite answer though.

My current bottle is a year old and still doing fine. Last one got tossed around the two year mark when it failed me on a White Diamond install. I recently started keeping it and my CA glues in the refrigerator with the moisture-cured coatings that I use on old car parts. The cold dry air in the fridge definitely stretches the shelf life of those, so maybe it will help GG last longer. I'm not really cheap, but I hate to waste expensive stuff.

Look on the bottom of the container by law it must a shelf life listed. If not check the MSDS Material Safety Data Sheet for the item, you can find the MSDS online by doing a search.

I usually buy the small bottles, just because they are easier to work with. I have used the big bottles and never had a problem with them. Once I open them and use them I store them upside down (make sure the cap is on tight) and they last until they are empty. Hope this helps.
