Has anyone tried this new Glue (white) I happened to be at Home Depot and noticed it today. Just wondering about ferrules and maybe tips? It says it dries white instead of the normal dark? Opinions anyone?........Thanks Dave

I use it for tips.
I won't recommend it for ferrules unless it's threaded and has a glue relief hole.
Kevin Varney recommended it here first.
He said it worked GOOD with his false teeth. :)

Kidding aside, Kevin was the first one to have used it on tips here.
He still uses duct tape in his teeth though. The ones from 99 cent stores.

I actually haven't tried the white but the new quick cure in the dark is wonderful for tips.
And Joey...my teeth aren't false (yet) but they are pretty. Here's you a pic of my smile to hold you over until your Christmas card gets there. :D

WOW!
That's cute.
The owner's not too shabby either.

I have a weakness for sheperds. Very smart and loyal buddies.

Thanks Joey. Yes he's my loyal companion...keeps an eye on my shop for me. He's 11 months now & 120lbs. He stands up and puts his paws on my shoulders & looks me straight in the eye. Extremely smart too...both his parents were police dogs. If you get within 100yds...he already is watching.:D

I have used the white, once. It was to do a black/white trim ring. I used it to glue the black linen into the white billet. I think it was great. It has held up and the white blended well on the ring.
Dave

And in case anyone hasn't tried it...the darker one foams & dries to a tan color much like wood glue. It doesn't dry dark at all.

He's still got them Dave...look like big black fuzzy tennis balls. I was going to have him fixed but it kind of breaks my heart...he trust me so much. I have taught him a neat trick though...3 or 4 people come into the shop or poolroom & he sits down behind the one that he smells the most cash.:D :D :D

good doggy...

LOL....someone just pm'd me that Bullets nuts look like two 8 balls stuck together in a Sunday church sock! Mister all I can say is maybe you better invest in a lint roller for your church socks.:D :D :D

I finally got a chance to use the gorilla glue in both colors, not for tips and ferrules bot on table repairs for blind rails that broke off. Instead of wood glue and a bucket of staples\ nails I usd this glue with a clamp and cannot seperate the two pieces at all alot better then factory install they did.
Remember it needs water to work right and if you use to much it does expand alot almost ruined my new carpet in the work shop 3days old and still clean...

Has anyone had to remove a ferrule that was installed with this glue yet to see if the threads clean out easy or hard? I'm thinking 4 month's or longer since it was installed to see how it held up?

Craig

the threads are slightly more difficult to clean after you remove the ferrule, but not that difficlut.
