"Got English?" T-Shirt from Dr. Dave

Got mine in the mail - really nice quality, with razor sharp printing. The tiny mathematical gibberish is so clear it's almost as if it means something.

I'll be representing for pool nerds tomorrow at local Sphereology chapters.

Your creative genius is well received, Dave - I've ordered another shirt for a friend. :)

What's next?

Thank you!

I actually have ideas for two more shirts, but I want to get a few things ironed out first before I proceed. Also, maybe I'll draft up the art for both ideas and post them here for input (and for changes) first before I decide which one to print next.

Catch you later,
Dave

I'm also open to any ideas you or others might have that you would like to see.

How about this, Doc?

ESL...for those who can’t get out from the seven

I’ll be ordering an XL from a friend’s PayPal account next week.

I like the idea of putting some difficult-to-verbalize pool ideas on shirt diagrams, like you've done with english.

I can see an aiming diagram on a shirt - maybe one with contact point, aim point, line of centers, etc. Or with fractional ball hits and the resulting angle that the object ball travels.

Bank/kick systems.

Cue ball directions - 90º with slide, 30º with roll, etc.

Throw issues, like what increases or decreases it.

Could be some controversies on league night though "hey no looking at his shirt, that's coaching!"

Great minds must think alike, because all of these were also on my ideas list.

I can't wait to point at my "Got English?" shirt every time I make a great sidespin position shot in league. But I can also already hear the league NaySayers: "You should have looked at your shirt first, before missing that shot." But I'm sure I'll have fun with that too.

Dave

Thank You Dr. Dave!

My wife and I got our "Got English?" t-shirts last night. We didn't get Dr. Dave's autograph but was able to get a picture with the master, thank you sir. Finally, people will know what I think about every time I hit a pool ball. hahaha :)

Hear's a couple pictures: one of the 3 of us proudly wearing our new t-shirts; the other showing my appreciation to Dr. Dave for all he does for us pool nerds. :)

I didn't expect you to post the 2nd (X-rated) photo, but I'm glad you did.

Thanks again for dinner,
Dave

Dr. Dave, Howdy;

Very happy to report that the shirt was awaiting me at the P.O. this
morning. Took it across the road to the local bodega and showed the owner.
Got a big smile and a chuckle from him.
Tomorrow the VFW.

The 2XL fits nice, thought the writing was on the back till I saw it. Oh, well.At least
I'll be able to read the expressions when they look at it and know whether or not to
duck ... ;) , :D .

Let me now how it goes at the VFW also.

I just assumed everybody would want the art on the front, but a few people have asked for it on the back. Live and learn.

I'm glad you like it, and I'm glad the USPS can be so efficient at times,
Dave

I am happy to see there is so much interest. I've already had to order more shirts! I wasn't very smart with my initial order, requested a large number of size Large, with lesser numbers for M and XL, and even lesser numbers for S and XXL. I'm almost out of XXL, which has been the most-requested size. I've also ordered some XXXL, thinking some people might prefer that. I'll post a message when the 3XL size is available.
FYI to those interested, XXXL (3XL) is now available, and my XXL (2XL) is now re-stocked.

Regards,
Dave

Sorry, but all I plan to offer is white on black. Also on "my list" is working with a print-on-demand T-shirt retailer to offer the design with different options (all shirt sizes, including junior and women, all colors, art on back and/or front, etc.).

Thank you for the interest, suggestions, and comments.

Best regards,
Dave
Would definitely get one for my little pool nut nephew too!

I'll ask one of the small boys a few houses down from me to try on the Small to see how it fits. I would think most kids nowadays would like the loose fit of a Men's Small.

Dr. Dave, Howdy;

Well, I'm still in one piece, The shirt got a few chuckles, a very few questioning looks,
they did come over to ask and get a better look. Then some more chuckles. 1 or 2
didn't have a clue and ... those are the ones that think they shoot the best, for being a
beginner ... .

Me I think it's a keeper  , !!!

Thanks. I think the equations are fun because most people don't understand them. But if people ask, you can tell them that they are not just random gibberish ... they actually explain all of the important squirt/swerve/throw effects in detail. Like I said ... fun! :grin-square:

Dave
