Nice story Hu!
I'll have to add one of mine so Nat can see, karma does exist.
You all have probably heard the saying "if you lay down with dogs, expect to get some fleas".
As a young man in my early 20's I did some things that I am not very proud of. I associated with some bad people, and you could say, I was no angel myself.
I made the mistake of inviting some of these knuckleheads into my home for parties I hosted back then, from time to time.
As one might have expected, I came home one night to find my house had been broken into and valuable items including a tv and two rifles were taken. Two little slits in the bathroom window screen was all they needed to get in.
Happy to say, shortly after this I made some wholesale changes in my life, cleaning up my act pretty good.
Fast forward 10 years. I get a phone call out of the blue from a Norwalk, CT police detective who, after id'ing himself, begins asking some questions. He asked me if my home had ever been burglarized and I said yes, approx 10 years earlier. He asked if they stole my high school class ring and I said, I never considered it but maybe so, since I hadn't seen it in many years. He said that they have recovered my ring and have reason to believe that it was likely taken in my home burglary.
I asked him how did they know this was my ring. He responded, very easy, they checked with my high school's records department and with the year (1974) and the three initials that were engraved in the ring, they determined it was mine.
So then I asked where did they find it. He said the man who was wearing it was found dead in an alley with a needle still sticking out of his arm. And that this fellow was a known burglar with a long rap sheet. Trying to inject (sorry) some humor, I asked, "did he also happen to be wearing my Remington 7mm magnum?"
Please be aware, it can take a little time but if you remain patient, karma should eventually come chugging back around.
Best,
Brian kc
