I think it was mentioned in Mike Gulyassy's thread that there were 8 players. I am assuming this is the same event you are talking about. Grady has a good room and works hard to put these things together hopefully things pick up.

I hope it picks up for him too.

Sorry didn't see it. Only 8 players, that sucks. is he in a hard to get to location or is this to do with the economy? All he's done for pool he should draw better than that. Johnnyt

I saw some of the tournament. It was a pretty strong 8 player field. I happen to think it has something to do with a lack of advertising.

I am not sure. My guess would be a combination of factors. Gas, economy, the fact that maybe Banks does not draw well in the area ?

I think it says a lot for Grady that even when something does not go as expected he does not quit trying. Damn shame about the turn out but I suspect it is only the beginning for events all over the country.

I didnt see anything about it beforehand now that you mention it. What was the format and how "big" of an event was it supposed to be?

I am not sure about added money or anything.....I know it was $60 entry, double elimination, race to 5.

The field was:
Grady
Grady's son-in-law Matt
Scott Rabon
Josh Roberts
Brian White
Kevin Brown
Red something
Shannon Something

It was advertised as a larger entry fee, but reduced because of the poor turnout of the 9-ball event he held last month.

advertising...

What type of advertising would you suggest? It was in all the pool magazines and the forums. We really didn't expect a large turnout for bank pool but the fans really enjoyed watching and learning the game. Grady came in 4th but played better than his finish showed. He made some fantastic shots that looked like the Grady of old.
Oh...and Eric, Grady doesn't have a son-in-law. At least not until next month when his daughter is getting married. Matt is his step-son.

I hope his one pocket tournament does much better. I intend to go if at all possible, had too many things going on to go down for the banks.

I think the tournout was lower than expected

I am working on getting chalk ready for his room. Hopefully people will help support his room - I haven't been there and supprisingly, I have no ads for his chalk but- he will get FREE chalk anyway - even if it just has my logo on it!

I learned a lot from his video's and love his quirky way of describing shots.;)
