When comforting a grammar Nazi, I always say, "They're, there, their. It will be okay."
This works for comforting pools players after a miss, too.

This post caught my funny bone...^
..is that 'humerus', 'humorous', or 'humourous'?

Maybe if I focused on putting more grammar on the cue ball rather than english, it'll improve my game...?

I have days I couldn't beat my grammar....
...no matter what I put on the cue-ball.

The 25-cent expression for words that sound/look alike but actually have nothing to do with one another is "homonyms." And you can be absolutely certain that anybody who knows that can't play a lick. (This one can't.) GF

George, read post #44 on the 'Too much drama poll"...
...you may get a kick out of it.

Your trying to be funny.

This actually would be correct in some situations, e.g., "Your trying to be funny is getting old."
I love our language, and not just because I damn sure can't learn another. They're all Greek to me.

We are all products of our environment. It's wrong to judge people by how they speak or spell. It is what it is. Enough drama on this site without slamming people for their spelling. Good grief, phonics is not even spelled phonetically!! Should be fonix! Hav uh nis da!
