I am traveling this weekend to Granite City, IL ... just 10 mins outside of St. Louis. Does anyone have any pool room/action match suggestions?

The Billiard Club is the pool room in Granite City - Doug Patrick of www.patrickcues.com has his pro shop there.

Riverbend Billiards in Alton IL used to have a Saturday or Sunday tournament. You might want to give them a call.

Many players (and non players like myself) will be in Vegas either by Thursday or Friday.

Not sure if you will find the action you are looking for and I really don't know your speed so I would be hesitant to direct you. The Break in Cahokia IL is the pool room where most action happens. Hit or miss this time of year. If you can play on a nice, tight gold crown - go check it out.

If you like to fish, got try out the strip pits in Sparta IL - you will have a better time than trying to land a 'pool room' fish in May.

I concur with Watchez with the Break being the lone "action" place lately.

I have heard there are some limestone quarries down near Steeleville that have better fishing...but thats just a rumour.

All the "action" at our room (Cue & Cushion) is pretty low dollar but I invite you to come over and check us out while you are in town. Have a great stay while in St. Louis.

You can see a preview of our room, rates, directions at our website listed in my sig.

Someone just starting to play would give him the 6. Someone could show them a bridge and they would torture him. Just a needle for you to remove on the plane Daniel. Have a nice trip

Thanks for the suggestions everyone ... except George. Give me a call George, and I'll tell you why I'm going.

Have fun.

Cue N Cushion is a great 'old time pool' room with an inventory that will blow your mind. Be nice to Craig & talk him into opening the safe & bring out his dad's cues.

Hit Cue N Cushion during the day - The Break or hang out with Doug @ night.

If someone just starting to play could give you the 6 - again you are out of luck for action as I will be in Vegas & the only one in STL that fits that category.

I moved away almost a year ago, but here is what the deal was a year ago. Most of it has been covered already.

The Break is a good action room.

Riverbend in Alton, 15 minutes North of Granite City has a 9 ball tournament on Sunday at 3:15 and action can be found there as well.

Cue and Cushion is a nice clean room, probably not as much action there but a nice place to play and by far the largest selection of new and used cues in St Louis.

I'm haven't been to Doug Patrick's place but I hear it is nice.
