Greatest Shots

Here is a thread to use to link to videos of the greatest shots.

I will start out with this one from a Reyes/White match - Final 32 - Loser is out of the event 8:7 Reyes going to 9. Reyes is looking at going to a 5:9 combo to win the match but tries to bump the 5 out instead and comes up short - he plays a great safety that pays of better than 80%. - BUT Jimmy White kick-banks the 5 into the 9 and sets up the hill-hill game.

White breaks and makes three balls and has a bank on the 2. He plays safe and leaves Reyes looking at a tough shot with ONLY a tough reverse bank available - Reyes nails it - nothing but net - then he drains a tough 3 right behind it - and gets out.

Efren Reyes had the 9 ball about an inch from the side pocket. The cue ball was in a cluster of 3 balls, with no chance of either a kick or a jump shot at the 1 ball. He elevated his cue & jumped over the ball in front of him. The cue ball hit the rail IN THE AIR, bounced over a ball, hit the 1 into the 9 & won the game. (This was a shot I saw him practicing, at a tournament in Louisville earlier that year)...JER

I was wondering as I put up this thread how many of these shots will involve Efren.

One more I need to find is where he was playing the Challenge of Champions and he has to cut the nine ball almost 90 degrees down the rail just to get to the sudden death game.

Good post, this is certainly a great way to kill a Sunday morning. And speaking of killing, the war department is nipping at my heals to git outside and start the yard work. I'll have to come back to this one later.

Great thread John.

FYI, for several years I've been collecting links to great pool and snooker matches and match highlights. I know you don't like links to my website, but I have all of the links listed here (under "great match highlights"):

There are lots of great clips online.

Regards,
Dave

earl

One of the best shots I ever saw was by Earl. It might have been hill-hill, and it was a difficult "do-or-die" shot....I can't remember who it was against, but the cue ball was close to one corner pocket with the object ball about the middle of the table......he had to shoot a straight-in shot about the length of the table into the (diagonal) opposite corner, and draw the ball back for position.....as he was known for "coming" with tough shots, he nailed it; and if I remember correctly, the opponent conceded the game and match.......

Well thanks for the links first, appreciate it. Secondly I like when you post links to your site BUT sometimes when you do it it's at inappropriate times.

I am the last person on this forum who should tell someone not to post links to their site. I do it every chance that is available where I feel it's ok to do so.

That's the fine line which I have certainly crossed before and one which you cross as well. All I asked you to do is to exercise some prudence as sometimes when you do insert your links it feels a bit malicious. (and yes, I am guilty of posting links as aggressive weapons as well.)

Of the clips you have listed on your site , which one stands out most for you?
