Green or blue?

I have been undecided on whether I preferred a table with green or blue cloth. Last week I played on a blue clothed table and found it to be more stressful on the eyes than the green.

Some pool experts have stated the exact opposite of what I stated above.

What do you think? Green or blue?

Supposedly green causes less eye fatigue; however blue shows up better on TV, which is why tournaments that were televised began using electric blue. I prefer blue for looks, but it does cause eye strain after a while IMO.

green

Seems to me you should go with the original color..........THE COLOR OF MONEY...................

Blue by a mile...

I would say it depends on the color of the table. I have green on my home table, but it is a dark colored wood, so I looks too dark. I am going to have it recovered in the very near future and I am going with the blue. I would say add in the color of the walls/floors and that would also have a lot to do with the choice.

Not that any of this has anything to do with eye fatigue.

Actually you got it backwards. The tournaments use tour blue not electric blue. Tour blue is the same blue that is the default on your microsoft computer, the US open tennis among others. A million dollar studied was conducted and found tour blue to be easier on the eyes for fatigue than green.
The reason it was ever green to begin with is because pool in its infancy was a lawn game. When they brought it up on a table thay made cloth green because grass is green.
BTW I hated blue when I first started playing on it. Once I got used to it I love it (green is too dark)

I like the blue but I've been debating about going with the tan color simonis when I recover my table. Not sure what the color name is. Camel maybe? Anybody have experience with that color?

Thanks,

Randy

I prefer blue for no particular reason.

I read somewhere that jewelers gaze at emeralds to relieve eye fatigue.

I didn't like blue when I first played on it just because it was different. I changed my mind when I discovered that the blue reflects light better than the green and I was better able to see the edges of the dark balls. I played once or twice on the camel colored cloth and liked it for the same reason.

I prefer neither. I'd love my home table (when I get one) to be RED.

I got a new table on the condition my wife could pick cloth color.

Dark Red it is.

I would prefer to have green on new diamond table.

Tournament Blue on a DIAMOND Pro Am with cherry-stained Dymondwood rails is a perfect combo imo. :thumbup2:
