AWESOME!!! How completely cool this technolgy crap!

Nutshell: I just figured out Sunday while taking pics of my son hunting easter eggs that my phone has a video cam that records for 20 minutes! The last phone I had the camera sucked and video was like 30 seconds...

So anyway, for ships & giggles I put the phone near a pool table while I was bangin balls just to see how it looked...

really didnt look to bad as far as quality... to big to email myself the file and no data cable so.. oh well. happy to have the ability to vid myself without having to use a camcorder...

So today I made a tech-no-log-ical breakthough (LOL), I uploaded my first video to youtube HAHAHA! very exciting moment for me.

anyway, I was just banging some balls so don't shred me to badly if you watch it... wasn't really "trying" to hard... & missed a few easy shots cause my makeshift "tripod" for my phone/big time movie camera was a ashtray & a chair on top a table. afterall I didn't know I'd be a big MOVIE STAR!! hahahaha.

ANyway, what you think? and I dont really mean my shooting, it wasnt too great... but the video quality... is it ok ?? (ps. vid is 5 minutes long)

Nokia E71x is what the front says. Dude, Im totally jacked! I really loved the pics it took... Now, I find out the video works great!
 
Cool, I didn't think 640x480 would be that good of a quality. My HTC's video is fuzzy at best at 640x480.
Ashtray and chair, gotta try that combo.lol..
 
Great camera. Better than my Casio Exilim.

Pool is hard. But you look good.
 
The video quality looks decent for a cell phone. I think the motion blur comes from a slow frame rate. I doubt many cell phones are capable of good video but if your happy that's all that matters.

yeah man, like I said didnt know this would be my big movie debut!

Was trying to bang some around mostly to see what the vid quality looked like.

If anything jumps out at you like besides my lllllllllllllllllllllllllllong bridge, or my often forward of 90* grip... Im open to critisizm. SO long as it's not about my bald head. lol.

Not bad at all. Frame rate makes for some interesting viewing when things are in rapid motion but still very watchable. Work on that cue ball. :)

I mean, it's tolerable? I didnt know It would do anything, I have a DVD camcorder that is just a pain in the arce to setup, etc... and it's easy to procrastinate making vid's... IM not even sure how much better the DVD camcorder is than this vid my phone takes... Im sure it must be better... I dunno. BUt anyway a readt made video cam in my pocket with 20 minute air time (much more actually, as i can use flash drives in to expand the storage) is fargin terrific!

Table need cleaned & cloth is a little slow (dark blue) has big time break line burns too... No one really uses much or any powder on it though.

Yeah, I know I let the CB go a few times there and I work on that all the time... If I only knew Id be on TV!! lol.
 
Wow, that's pretty good for video from a phone! I got an iphone a while back and love it, but wish I had waited on the 3gs so I could record video. Now that you have posted this I think I may have to look at what software I need to make it record.

Thanks for posting the video, its always nice to put a face to the people that post here. Especially to one that has contributed so much to the funny thread :)

Dunno bout the face, but you guys should be able to recognize the top of my head and my arms in a lineup, no doubt. lol.

Do you get that feeling like when your warming up in a crowded poolroom and everyine is watching you?

Stroke looks straight.It apears to me that you are guessing on shots and hoping for shape but I am by no means an expert.

No, I didn't feel like anyone was watching. Well I take that back, I got the feeling that for the first time i would be watching. ;)

As far as guessing shots/shape, no I wasn't guessing. I knew what I intended on doing. Banging some balls to see if the video looked ok. I was loosely thinking about the stroke, maybe to much so as I did let the cueball go little wild... Im a big fan of analogies... I guess you could say I was on the horse, giving it a good swift kick and letting it run.
 
I like the video quality on that phone. I've certainly seen my share of pool videos where you can't tell the difference between the balls. But on that video it was fine. That's really amazing for a phone. Like, I would watch a stream in that quality all day. Any pros shoot where you're at? I've always wondered... why don't people with nice cell phone video make clips of local pros who come in and play occasionally?

No pro's play where I play (room) but plenty play in the area Im in (Tampa Bay) now that I know that my phone will make Vid's of a reasonable quality I will be taping anything I can!
