It is the coolest thing ever to have your children come to watch you win. But it is even cooler to watch them work hard and acheive Championship Status within their own Gifts. Drake was on the Today Show here is part of the clip.

Thanks for the link, Robin! He sounds great! I missed the Today Show this morning, because I was watching you play on ESPN Classic in match from 1993 VS some player named Dawn Meurin. lol. Somehow I believe her son Bo might grow up to be a pool player. Genetics. How is Drake dealing with all of this fame? Just curious.

Robin..... we have met in the past and i know that you sure won't remember me. ( I think it was at the old BC Open, did you play there?) But you definately have something new to be proud of in addition to your own great pool career. I will definately remember to buy this new album when it comes out.............mike

Did I win? ....what can I say it is still in my blood.

Drake is doing an amazing job, thankfully his fan base is priceless to him he loves the kids. His show on Nickelodeon has come and gone. His music career is for the older audience but they don't know it yet. So moms and dads are pleasantly surprised when they bring their kids to see him.

I see that he is coming to the Saratoga Preforming Arts Center. (or SPAC as we call it). I will have to take myself and some of my granddaughters to see him. Again, congratulations on his great and continued success......mike

I have three nephews that really like your son. How would I go about getting a signed picture or three or some other type of fanfare?

That's fantastic Robin. You must be incredibly proud. I spoke with you at your booth at the last Reno Bar Table Championship for a while and I could really tell you were a proud Mom!

And I caught that video this morning as well but I fell asleep watching it so I didn't get to see who won. That isn't a knock on the match, I work nights. :) I really enjoyed both of your outfits. You guys looked like football players with those shoulder pads!

I am pretty sure that you were ahead in the match when I had to leave... I think today you will be playing Loree Jon in the final - I think it was the Conelly Tournament - I am pretty sure Loree Jon won that one.

Just a quick question for you, Robin... lol... do you remember those Gordon tournaments? lol! Where they had the Bore on the 9 ball... lol... I have a match on tape where you are playing Ewa in the finals of one of them. When either of you ladies would pocket the 8 ball, somebody would ring this obnoxious bell and then they would scream over the microphone "Pour the Bore!" or something really silly. By the end of that match you and Ewa were looking at each other as if you were going to draw straws to see who got to choke the guy with the bell and the microphone. I should try to post it on youtube, when they would ring the bell, the look on your face was priceless - lol. Its funny looking back at that, but Gordon's was putting some major money up for you ladies. It makes me wonder how much one of the Gordon "Bour" 9 balls would be worth today.

Let me know if you decide to go for sure. I can get Meet and Greet passes your grandaughters will get a kick out of that. They cannot be purchased you have to win the meet and greets.....well unless you have contacts :)

I can no longer get them.....I see him so rarely anymore that when I do....I don't get autographs. He enjoys just being able to come home and veg.
I do have posters on my site that I had him sign 1 and then I had the rest printed.

Wow--- very well done! He has a cool sound, I like it.

Getting in front of a national tv audience like that to sing a song live probably takes 10x the guts compared to playing Efren in the finals of a world championship.

You must be the proudest mom on earth-- congrats!

I have 3 sons and they are the Best Ever, however Travis is a computer guy....A Very Sharp one....but I am clueless....and Robert is in the Mortgage business...we talk all the time but mostly over my head. Drake's career I get....and I get the biggest kick out of seeing him perform.

A cute story. Drake called me after performing in front of 7,000 fans a couple years ago. This was before he really went big :) . He stayed after and signed Posters, CD's and what ever else the kids had for him. He stayed 4 hours signing, anyway he made some pretty good $$$ and when he got back to his room he was sitting on the floor counting his loot. Then he called me (after the BCA or APA I'd come home sit on the floor and count the loot in front of the kids) and said "Mom, I know where I got this...it all came from you" He has great talent and many gifts...and the passion to become the Best! I certainly could relate....it was a cool mom son moment.
 
Great post, it is nice to see and read good feeling stories out here, there are far too many negative stories here. Congratulations, I bought a jump cue from you at the DCC last year, will you be there in Jan. again, I love the cue. Thanks for posting.

I have a 6 and 8 year old and they both have been playing the guitar for about a year. They are very excited to go to the iowa state fair and see Drake, we already have the tickets. We have his CD and the lesson DVD is a nice addition. His acoustic performance in the woods is when I said to myself that this kid is really going to excel. I met you, Robin, in chicago about 4 years ago at pheasant run. I had my picture taken with you and you were a treat. What does it take to get a meet and greet with Drake? My kids would go absolutely crazy.

I need the date of the show? I need to know how many G&M passes? And they will be at "Will Call" whoever picks up the tickets must have an ID.
You can pick up Posters and such before hand for him to sign so the kids will get a little more time to talk to him. The best way to get Drake to talk is to tell him they play guitar..... he loves to talk about music!!

I like Drake's style, and how he is progressing as an artist. I like his music too, and I am 59.

Robin, I bought my first jump cue, an original Frog, from you in Vegas at the VNEA internationals. You spent 10-15 minutes with me, and besides liking you right away, I have always thought you had such a nice personal touch to you.

I want you to know that the first time I used the Frog in competition, a money match, $100 sets, I made 6 out the 7 jump shots left me!!!

Drake's posters, and T-Shirts are cool. My 11 year old Granddaughter would want one or the other, or both, I know.

Well thank you I love mine too, I use to tell people I make money selling the Frog but I made 1000's using it.

Did you see the new cue idea I'm coming out with. I am thinking Christmas gift for the kids. Drake Bell pool cues.....but I have a package that is too long to explain here. But I did get Drake to sign 100 cases and pictures for me....
can't say he'll be doing that again any time soon :) robindodson@ix.netcom.com is the package...I only have 100 of the special package. And I won't even have them until the end of Oct. so I am only taking orders. They are selling fast at the tournaments I should be sold out of them before they arrive.....fun fun!!!!
