The B.P.I. has the safety inning included, which isnt the propper way of doing B.P.I.
had to do it this way for the season since inning calculations were innacurate from the start. Next season i will make it so innings are calculated correctly.
The top 5 players plus a Wild Card will go into the playoffs, which is a single elimination tournament. Should be a real good tournament in the end !!!

The traditional way of figuring BPI does include the safety innings, though in a heavily safed game, it will understandably skew the numbers.
So how are you using BPI? Tiebreaker after record is considered?
How is the 6th "wild card" player figured?
Good luck to you and Charlie, the only guys I know in the league.
It looks like you are in. Charlie maybe has a chance for the wild card. It does not look like the make-ups will change much in terms of who gets in, unless it somehow affects the wild card.
Is the tournament then seeded? What are the high runs of some of the players, so we can figure relative strengths of possible playoff matchups? What are the handicaps.
I know. Lot of questions from a kibbitzer.![]()
I would say its about time I said what a great job Steve is doing running our league. It is just incredible the amount of players that are still interested in playing straight pool, my hats off to all of them.
After this season concludes and the winner is awarded that beautiful cue, made by Pete Tonkin, we will be starting up again around February 3rd. If your interested in participating, give us a call at 631-647-7772.

Bayshore Billiards
Using an 8 man tournament bracket the Top 2 places get a Bye the first week of playoffs, moving them over to the next tier.
3rd plays 6th
4th plays 5th
Hi Steve,
A question about the play offs. So anyone in the playoffs has a chance for first place? If that is true, how is that fair. The guys who played well during the season and have had their handicaps adjusted accordingly and now have to compete ( with an elevated handicap) with players who's handicap was not raised as much. What stops a player from laying down a bit so he has a lower handicap for the playoffs. This was my dilemma for the playoffs. So I allowed only first place (after season play) to play second place , third to play the fourth, and fifth to play sixth. After the playoffs the final standings were determined by the number of wins during the season and playoffs. A player then can only jump two spots, depending on # of wins. Ties were won by the player with the most bonus points. 1 bonus point for every 15 ball win during the season. a 30 ball win =2 bonus points.
Would love to hear your take,
Robert
The pleasure is all mine Steve, I am real glad to be doing my part !!!
So we're looking at 25 players and growing for next season, I guess we're doing a good thing..
Here's the standings for week 12 !!!

I thought it was only going to be 11 weeks since you have 12 players. Is it double round robin? 22 total games?
No I left it at 13 weeks, with 2 byes in the mix. Didn't want to shave off more weeks and lower the prize fund as a result !!
Well, If each player plays 11 games and 2 byes, why are some of the records 9 and 3 with more to come. Do they count they bye as a win?
