You mentioned my service and that leads me to a story I would like to share.

Here In Michigan vehicle registrations expire on your birthday, so the other day I'm at the Secretary of State of office renewing the registration. Normally they give you a sticker to place on the license plate for the new year but I a wanted new plate to replace the old one that a vandal had tried to rip of my van and had severely bent it out of shape.

Michigan offers several different types of specialty plates and mine is a veterans (Vietnam) plate. Anyway after paying the lady that was helping me she wished me a happy birthday (very unusual for a state employee) and continued by thanking me for my service to the USA and extended her hand for a handshake. Her gesture of thanking me and this thread you started have made this birthday a special one for me.

Also thanks to everyone who posted in this thread.

I have heard of birthday miracles and many a strange story but a nice lady at the DMV, that is the most amazing tale I have ever heard!
