Yesterday was a work day for me which kept me in the cockpit. The only thing that sucks about getting old is that birthdays don't seem to have the flare anymore. Just another day, business as usual.
Somebody slid into my daughter's car in front of our house, putting a plate-size dent in her bumper, but they did leave a note. My daughter who's struggling to go to college and work full time was upset, but she didn't let it stop her from surprising me with a bouquet of fresh-cut flowers, tie-dyed socks, and some lavender bath oils.
Soon after that my brother gave me an envelope full of CASH, which put a big smile on my face.
The best present, though, came from Keith. He doesn't really cook very often, but he wanted to make me a nice dinner, and that he did. It was a well-thought-out menu, with all of my favorites, to include Chesapeake Bay crab cakes. He knows the way to this woman's heart is her stomach. We then took a long walk with our dog Sammy before it got dark.
To wake up and read the posts from many of my friends on AzBilliards, it's like it's my birthday all over again. For me, the things that really bring me joy are truly the simple niceties that come from the heart, and this morning, you guys have started my day off right, with a great big smile on my face!
