Those pictures are classics. Thanks for sharing. :)

One thing that stands out to me, sadly, is that every single person is in the picture is a Caucasian male. There are no women or people of other ethnicities present. :(

It looks like a young Norman Hitchcock shooting in the first photo. A youthful Don Watson in photo two shooting. And a young NY Blackie leaning against the wall by the cue rack, and watching Watson shoot in photo three. I may be wrong on all three.

If it's 60 years ago, then Blackie would have had to be close to 80 when he died. The ages are about right for Hitchcock and Watson though. And both guys were on the road back then. Only Junior Goff would know who these guys are for sure. I'd love to get him on here. Junior is still alive and playing pool at over 80!

At the time those photos were taken, many of those guys were praying that their wives didn't know where they were!

Thank all. Please note these pictures can be expand by clicking lower right area when icon show. I wonder if the players are playing straight pool?

Shane?

Is it just me or does the guy just beyond the shooter in the first photo look like Shane Van Boening?

Looks like my Brunswick Madison snooker table before I refinished it, minus a couple of legs. Quite a turnout! Definitely before TV and Barcaloungers!

great pics! thanks.

and if you all were wondering....those pics look like EVERY holiday photo from my childhood! :D we had a GCI in the basement.....beers in the fridge...and an ashtray every 2 feet!;) I'm the youngest of 10 kids with about 345632 aunts, uncles and relatives!

no wonder I am a pool degenerate....:o

Fantastic photo's, thank you. I love how everyone in the room is dressed in a button down collard shirts and slacks, but that is how the folks dressed back then, no matter where they went. My how times have changes..........

That's A Scary Thought (on an empty stomach)

Uh-oh, I'm hearing the Twilight Zone theme and thinking "Back To The FUTURE".... :)

Great photos. Looks like straignt pool, because of the tight formation of the almost full rack in the last picture. Then again, in one of the previous pictures a final ball is on the table, without the other 14 racked.
Also, in one of the pictures you can see several players holding cues. Maybe they we're playing partners?
Thanks for showing us.

Danny

God I love those pictures, i wish the rail was like that today, soicity changes.

Thanks for the reps Fast Lenny and Asbani.

I noticed in one photo there a rackman lending against the wall.

Another photo, you can see, what look like, a policeman cap.

The photo that look like a tear, might just be the piece of paper you see in another photo hanging.

Jay thank for the identification of the players.
