A kind word..............and a .45
...will get you more than a kind word

:duck:

I havent had that.

I find in the PM world everyone is pretty nice.

The only deal that got me, was a guy that was not a moderator *****ing about someone bumping threads.

Geez, get a life.

Anything I have asked for I have found folks have done for me (AND MORE).

So I disagree with your premise.

JAM thinks that most of us are awful towards professional players. I dont think that is true either. I have never heard a bad word about SVB and other players.

I think we dont give bad behavior a pass, however.

I think about the civil rights and how everyone preaches that everyone should be treated equally. I agree with it. But as you get older you start to better understand that people dont want to be treated equally, they want to be treated better than everyone else with special considerations and privaledges.

Best of rolls,

Ken

I'm not a moderator and I proudly voiced my opinion about thread bumping and other things of the sort. It's ironic that someone takes a disliking to my voicing out about wrong doings. I'm not perfect at all and at first I broke the rules. I dove in head first without taking the time to read them. I try to adhere to them as best as I can. The rules are in place for a reason. Maintaining order just makes sense. Next time you play 9 ball and your opponent shoots a ball out of order just remember that rules are silly and let them continue on their run.

Again, I'm far from perfect but honestly why not push the people out that know they are doing something wrong?

I was pleased when I did something wrong and someone took the time out of their day to make me aware.

I'll volunteer to help moderate if needs be.

Now how bout that local sports team eh? Hehehe

We used to have a sales rep who would always sign off thusly;

"We thank you very much in advance for your uncontesting cooperation."

Here's one of mine:

We appreciate your business and thank you for giving us this opportunity to serve [name of customer].

Another one:

If you should have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

My favorite:

Thank you in advance for your kind reply.

If I'm running late, which is a no-no in my industry:

Your satisfaction is always our top priority.

To add a little levity . . .

An avid golfer and his buddies were playing 18 holes on the course. They were near a highway when a funeral procession came along. One man took of his hat, put it over his heart, and stood at attention until the entire procession had passed by.

"Well, that was certainly a nice gesture," commented one of his friends.

"It's the least I could do," replied the man. "We were married for over 40 years."

Two funny (now, def not then) messages I used to hear when on long telephone holds:

General Motors Acceptance Corp.:

"If you would like prompt and courteous service, press 6 now."

I would think, which should I push for s-l-o-w and rude service?

The New Haven Register (newspaper) classified department:

"Please do not hang up as this will further delay your call." :grin-square:  :grin-square:

how many times have we heard this after 5 - 10 or even more minutes on hold?: "Your call is important to us so please continue to hold for the next available customer service representative"?

One more thing, communication is key. Nothing pisses off a customer more than when the business does not reply after they are contacted. Even if the reply is a difficult one to give to a customer, it is better to respond right away than ignore it.

I was raised to be considerate....but when I answer the phone and
there's no dial tone (robo call) I think ...yeah, someone's gonna call
me to put me on hold...SLAM.......Is that any way to run a business?

Ever notice how much spam there is orally...Gmail aint the only one.
I love MickyD coffee....but sometimes I like to break the spam pattern.
...Can I help who's next?,,,No, it's not your fault.... about one in ten starts laughing.
...Will there be anything else?....Yeah, what's the population of Uzbekistan?

I know it's part of their job instruction, so I don't get irritated...
...but I like words to come from the heart

words that came from her heart spoken in a voice that was little more than a murmur...

I was civil

Related, but slightly off topic.

Using my cell phone, I called one of the Ma Bell post breakup, major reincarnates,(starts with a big A and ends with a big T )with a billing question about a 3rd party long distance recurring billing. The subject really doesn't matter.

Before customer service can address the issue(listen to the reason for my call), they inquire whether I am agreeable to sharing my account information and demographics with associated or potentially unknown third parties for the purpose of determining whether they can save me money on my existing service, or suggest some other combinations of services that I may not recognize that I need, or could benefit from, and they likely can offer at some amazing short lived price for an even shorter duration period before it reverts to a butt burning overcharge pricing that I will be locked into for the remainder of my days?...at least this is what I think they said.

To which I reply...'does this mean that you are going to try to sell me shit, before you try to help me with the reason for my call?'

'NO, not before we try to help, after...' Naturally, I said, OK.

Bottom line....I didn't sign up for U-verse, despite the huge gift card offered, and I didn't get the 'slammed' 3rd party long distance carrier charges removed either..

But, I did end up having a pleasant unproductive conversation with a guy named Dave, who when I asked where are you when you look outside, turns out that it was a bright sunny day in Columbia. Seems they became the long distance carrier when someone in the house used the land line for a one-off long distance call, the landline that exists only for sentimental reasons-ie:bragging rights that we have a 55 year old working phone number. Yup, acquired right after the partyline, and operator placed call technology quanset leaps.

I was civil.

Then I broke the mouthpiece end off of the handset of the princess phone used on the unused landline for yucks.

By comparison with some days, a very productive morning.

uh, Brian...thanks for the topic...I think.
