Our next door neighbor had a four year old daughter, basically a stair step below my three. Our dachshund had a litter of puppies and naturally a four year old and puppies was instant happiness.
One day Missy came over crying her eyes out though, really bawling and squalling. "What's the matter?"
"Bubba took my dog!"(Bubba was her older brother, her dog Suzy a grown beagle)
More Squalling and carrying on, ten minutes or so worth. Finally we got her calmed down a little. She asked if she could have a puppy since Bubba took Suzy. We figured it was no problem so we said sure as long as your dad and mom don't mind.
Missy ran home and quite happily told her mom that we were giving her a puppy and Bubba could have Suzy, Missy didn't want her anymore. The whole big deal with Bubba taking Suzy had never happened.
The female of the species learns young or maybe they are just born that way! :grin-square: :wink: :grin-square:
