Have you learned a lot from the AZB main forum about pool and people?

Meaning just what it says, in the subject. How has AZB main pool forum helped you and your pool game? Has it taught you many things about pool and people involved in pool? Name some of the areas in your pool game that it has helped you with? Thank you for your response.

I have learned a lot from the main forum. The best threads on here are the "What would you do" threads with WEI diagrams stand out. The discussions with Dr Daves videos are another standout.

I've learned much about position play, running a tournament (several under my belt), and how to use my home table for lots of different games. The main forum is where I found out about the PAT tests and booklets.

The main forum is also the best place to get links to online pro tournaments on the internet. I wish more instructors posted more regularly.

TL;DR: Yes.
 
Ive learned how to deal with everybody from the banger to the top professionals. Overall I learn something from everybody. Whether its what to do or what not to do :lol:
 
I've learned many things from AZ. Reading everyday about a subject of interest, writing and editing, helps build skills I should have acquired 15 years ago, when I dropped out the 10th grade. I was never any good at pool. There was one thing though that helped....well let me see about 5 things. OK actually its more. If it wasn't for the drugs and alcohol, I'd probably be a champion from all the stuff i picked up from here.

I learned not to order a cue unless I'm willing to wait maybe years and maybe lose my money.

I definitely learned something about Tony Annigoni.

Hey Lock good thread!

While there are plenty of attack dogs and douche bags on the main forum that post venom and nonsense the positive posters far outweigh them.

Sense joining the forum everything I know about billiards has either come from the forum or I have discovered books, videos, and other resources by discovering them here.

ALL of the resources for my after school program came from the forum for which I am grateful.

Most importantly I have met some really good friends here who will be lifelong friends. The player that is about to come to my house to play I met here.

All in all this is the best board on the internet for any topic bar none.

Way too many on here (main forum) selling everything from snake oil to over hyped over priced silver bullets. I would count how many time someone plugs their stuff and send them a bill for the ads. If they refuse to pay...ban their ass. Johnnyt
 
I've picked up quite a few tidbits, especially the technical aspects of cue repair and troubleshooting. This place is alot like a modern pool room without the alcohol, tobacco, or action hence the modern room. I personally like alcohol and if you can buy them you can smoke them as far as I'm concerned, and that's what I miss most about the game is the action. Good thread.

The question was about learning from the Main Forum. I have thought about posing this question myself, but decided against it because there are too many members with a hard-on for me for it to remain on topic.

But I can honestly say this forum hasn't helped my game one bit, at least not that I'm aware of. That's not to say it's not interesting and entertaining, and ego-watching is always amusing...
