I agree that headphones should be disallowed. However, I do feel that low profile earplugs with no mechanical stuff in them (solid rubber or foam) should be allowed.
I listen to a lot of trip hop while shooting. It's normally soft beats instrumental or accompanied with some signing.
Also like Lana Del Rey a lot when playing. Kinda puts me in the zone.
And anything from Trent Reznor or Maynard James Keenan is great too. Some people find NIN and Tool a bit harsh, but a lot of their more recent stuff is very melodic and even mellow. Real good nod your head music. Great when shooting.
Just created a pretty good Jonathon Davis playlist for nostalgia purposes.
Puscifer? I like it, don't own any.
I'm an average Joe that plays in a couple of straight pool leagues. Out of forty or so persons of varying skills and backgrounds I match up against maybe three wear headphones. They are the 'psycho' ones (you know who they are) that are always looking for an excuse and can't deal with the distractions of reality and think it'll help if they can't hear me say 'nice shot' when they make one. So, let them live in their little world of billiards perfection. It's all the same to me. Just don't ask 'did you call that' when I make a nice one.
And if I slop one in it counts since you don't know if I called it or not.

I'd rather hit myself in the mouth with a hammer than listen to Country music.

I will tak a stab at it. after all, i cant sleep- bed's on fire. And if anyone touches my chalk, I'll kill you.
Anyone calls me Francis, I'll kill you
And if any of you league bangers stare at me while I'm bent over on my shot....
