Now you're cooking. All you have to do is spam, I mean BUMP this thread. Just make sure you keep putting that URL address in there to make it easy for interested parties to vote.

BTW, for those of you who haven't seen Darren play, he is a very talented and composed player who enjoys betting a buck or two. Darren has stepped into the lions' den where others have feared to tread (Philippines). He can be seen playing long sets of 9 ball or 10 ball at the Derby City Classic with some of our country's most talented pool players.

Give him a vote just for having the balls to step up and play just about anyone who enjoys a gamble.

thanks

cheers joey

yes i enjoy the challenge of going to philippines and playing against them guys i worked out last week in my 3 visits to philippines i have played around 50 money games between $200-$7,000 and loved every minute of it ..i will return to philippines in june for one month to sharpen my game up!

also have spent time in america playing matches great experience!

but i know am still learning and lots of things to improve on especially 9ball,10ball,1 pocket, straight pool.

at 8ball thats what have played my hole life and of course its my strongest game!

ive spent lots of time in america and love your country and got to hang out and meet so many great people and lots of fun along the way!! and got some good results

Bca grand masters champion 2006

I think I saw some of this one. You were playing Jason Kirkwood. At one point, while you were checking the rack and getting ready to break, I left and walked to my room a half mile away to get my stick. When I got back the score was the same. My friend said you hadn't quite accepted the rack yet.

us open 9ball 2006 5th
ipt north american open 7th
world open 22nd
IPT RANKING NO 12! and coulnt make a ball of the break!
bca enjoyourpool.com pro 9ball event 13th
derby city straight pool champion 08
derby city 1 pocket 7th
played many money games in states with good results and travelled and played the top players in philippines!
world 10ball championships 9th 07

most successfull english 8ball player of all time won over 200 8ball tournaments surely i deserve a vote or two guys!! hehe

Mike, the pool player Darren Appleton was trying to ask for your vote. You can vote for the player of your choice for the next action match that the IPT Tour has. You can go to the following address http://www.internationalpooltour.com/EventVoting/
click on UNited Kingdom and it will pop up several players from the United Kingdom. Click on the first one that says Darren Appleton (click on Vote now on the same line as where Darren Appleton' name appears).

That's all there is to it. ;)
JoeyA

And if Darren wants to learn a little something he can go to www.youtube.com and search for Mike Page and his instructional videos.

Still waiting for one GOOD pool tip, Darren. ;)

hello joey

i dont do my own tips friend of mine does, i think he soaks the tips in milk for 15mins, and vice the tips for a while!

plus elk masters are so much cheaper

darren appleton :)

15 minutes doesn't seem long enough for the milk to have an effect. Any comments out there?

OK, time for another pool tip.

How about telling us how you deal with fatigue? Let's say you are tired from playing in a gambling match but you still have to play in the tournament and want to do well. What tips do you have for combating fatigue?

Or, how do you combat a case of the nerves? I've seen great players get the shakes and they don't have Parkinson's disease. How do you calm your nerves?

Give it up Darren! :D

JoeyA

hello

yeah not sure if tip should be in milk longer, lol

well to your questions joey

am sure many of the top players have overcome fatigue playing both gamling matches and tournaments and were successful doing both, for instance svb seems to beable to play all day and night and more and still plays great ,also efren reyes was the master at this too i feel longer efren plays the better he gets and looser he gets,
And am sure there is many more but both SVB & efran dont seem physically fit but they are mentally pool fit because they put many hours in and love the action and love the game same witht the likes of alex paga ,dennis orcullo, busta they play for ever and doesnt seem to bother them there body and mind seems programmed and allows them to play for days without much sleep and play still to a very high level!

for me i feel i can play for long periods ive had good results doing so and playing money games then to the events ,but i feel once i rest for a hour or two its very difficult to get back onto table and feel good about things because i feel your mind is closing down and your body too, so i would say yes its ok to keep playing both long as you dont have hours between games to rest ..
my first year at dcc 07 i was doing both, too much to be honest and it resulted in me fallen asleep after a marathon match with svb at 8ball i was due to play one pocket 5th round match but sadly i took a power nap which resulted in me sleeping for 5hrs and been scratched from the tournament, haha!

so this year 08 at dcc for instance i concentrated on the tournaments instead of money games more and it resulted in my favour as i felt much fresher for each match ,

but its very important to rest and sleep good ,but like i said its important to keep concentration for long as possible once you lose concentration and focus your game will slip a level so i suppose some players are stronger mentally than others and i believe the game pool is all in the mind!

as for nerves joey i think if you are nervous you are ready and its important to take positive energy from nerves ,but at same time control them and use them to your advantage for me nerves make me more focused which is good! but pressure and nerves are too different things and feelings ,you can have a good pressure feeling or a bad pressure feeling depending on how you are playing usually, but i do enjoy the pressure most of the time and the butterflys lol

but sadly some players dont handle nerves and pressure too good but gaining lots of experience and learning from your experiences can only help in the future.. and its upto each individual to figure it out for whats best for them ,or even look at other players who handles it better and pick something up from them... but its very important to be honest with yourself and if need be seek help from people better or find the best solution to conquer your fears, nerves, pressure whatever it might be!!

hope this helps a little!

I need some pool assistance from you Daz. My mother-in-law has just got on a Abu Dhabi/Manchester flight on her way back to Halifax after her sixth visit here in 8 months. Could you please pop over the road from Ponty and steal the old witch's passport so that there's no danger of her coming back during the upcoming 8 ball qualifiers?

It's bad enough having to grovel for a green card from the other half without that battleaxe's tuppence worth being thrown in:rolleyes:

Not quite a fair exchange for a vote but I drive a hard bargain. You'll never guess what Boyzi's gonna have to do for his:p

There's nothing like getting information first hand from the source. Thanks Darren. All's good.

Votes coming your way.

AZ please show your appreciation to Darren Appleton and cast your vote on the International Pool Tour's web site for one of their action matches..

thanks,

JoeyA

voted for him twice today

Well once before midnight and once after to split hairs. I saw that he had tried to give the real poop and that was worth more votes. We should see how he is fairing sometime tomorrow.

Is IPT going to show how the running votes stand? There are some unemployed presidential campaign workers looking for a new gig. :D

am away this weekend got 8ball tournament in england so hope u vote over weekend

have a good weekend ladies and gentleman!:)

Hey darren,
Heard some noise recently and wanted to know if you could confirm a matchup in vegas this may against a southwestern player with a COOL last name playing several disciplines for 100 extra large jellybeans? PM if you prefer. Thanks

I'm late to the party but you have my vote! How can I refuse a fellow Englishman?

If you ever hit the Dallas/Fort Worth area I hope I hear about it!!

I like your style

I just voted for you Darren. I have a soft spot for a player that aint afraid to bet his money when he's up against tough action. My pal, and your mate, Brian Saleh also thinks highly of you, so that's good enough for me. Good luck.

PS, I am posting my pool movie screenplay, "Roxanne's Game," in serial form on my website. Scene l and scene ll are available for perusing on this link: www.scriptforroxannesgame.blogspot.com/ It's loosely based on the road adventures of Jack and Barbara C**ney, and a few others.
