Well, as you all can tell I'm pretty new here. I'm a college student in Alaska, but I've been playing pool since I was in about 16 or so. I'm an old guy now, so don't let the college thing fool you. lol When I was in the Army, I used to play pool quite frequently and got to where I could run a few balls on occasion. I had bought two Meucci cues (Red dot Freshmans) but they got stolen when my then girlfriend's truck was stolen.
Fast forward several years and this is where my new journey starts. =) I started playing pool again about a month or so ago and have gotten back to pretty much the level I was playing at before stopping.
I've decided to purchase a new pool cue and so I ordered a Predator Wood to Wood Sneaky Pete. I've always wanted to try the Predator shaft so now I'll have my opportunity. Also, I've decided that I would like to improve my game so that I can be a much better player. I would consider myself an "intermediate" beginner because I know my fundamentals are lacking. I've been looking at some books and videos to buy and have decided to buy the Phil Capelle's set. Has anyone any input on this?
I've also decided to visit an Instructor and take some lessons with them. The instructor I have in mind is Randy G. I've heard very good things about him and think that I could benefit from his instruction. I do have a question for him since he's a member here.
I guess that's basically it. lol Sorry for the long spiel but I just wanted to introduce myself properly. Thanks, and I really look forward to learning as much as I can from all of you.
David
