I got this blank in alot of blanks I got over a yr. ago. Ai first I thought it was rosewood but im not sure now. The more I look at it the more it bugs me.Thanks for any help. Jeff

Its got alot of bright red in it but it also has the grain like PH. Now I know im in the right catagroy,lol. Thanks for all the help. This cue will be done next week .Jeff
 
It's purpleheart. Bloodwood has a totally different grain texture. Purpleheart does not always darken. There's a handful of purpleheart species, all very similar but enough different to notice. This is undoubtedly purpleheart.

Take the bumper off.
IF it's red, it's bloodwood.
If it's brown/dark dark purple, it's purple.
 
I'm definitley not an expert, but it looks like purpleheart. I have pieces ranging from dark purple to bright purple, and then those that have almost all brown, even after months of hanging.
The best thing would be to use a few lights to light it then take a pic NOT using a flash, as that washes and changes the colors.

And yes, your toes need some help:) Not a total makeover, but a alittle trim around the edges and maybe some purple polish:grin: :grin:
