Help identify this cue, please?

Could be old kevin Varney's cue. Check with him, sometimes he does not sing his cues

I have sent an email to both Roger Allen and Kevin Varney, I will let you know what they have to say. Thanks for the suggestion! -Josh

EDIT: seems like Kevin might not have time to respond to my email for a while from what I read in other threads. Are there any authorities on Varneys that I could ask for their opinion? Thanks!

Still no response from Allen or Varney... Are there any other parties that could shed some light on these makers being viable options? Thanks!

Both may have used the same material, but I am having trouble finding an example of a Biagio (or Joss) cue that has the same style buttcap or joint sleeve as mine... Could be that I am not looking in the right places though! In any case I will keep looking for similarities, thanks for the input!

I see you are in Florida. I made many cues in New Port Richie using a 3/8 10 around 2000 - 2002 and none were signed as my partner Rich during RT Custom Cues signed all the cues.

If the cue is that old and was bought in that area there is a good chance it is a Tcue or RT.

My feeling is that the cue is at least that old based on the patina and wear, though I am certainly no expert on the matter. I picked the cue up in Pensacola. Are there any specifics I could confirm this being one of yours with? Did the measurements seem appropriate for one you built? Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you! -Josh

Sorry I didn't catch this post earlier! What work are you referring to in that picture that appears personal? I have plenty of pics and am more than willing to do whatever I can to help with information about this cue. Attached is another picture of the joint area... Thank you very much for your input and I look forward to hearing back from you soon! -Josh

look at how well taillored that joint is, how nicely everything comes together.
the edges where wood meets material are razor sharp, who ever did this work was very good at it.
i believe that joint, it's style, the choice of color and material will lead you to the builder.

This is like something out of a "Twilight Zone" show.Very interesting.

Well I am not real sure what to make of all that... Hopefully you are right and someone will recognize... uhm... that.

Thanks for everyone who has given their input so far! I just had what sounded like a very promising lead sorta fizzle out, without being a definitive yes or no. Slightly discouraging, but I am not giving up hope just yet.

I would love to hear from anyone who has any thoughts or speculations on this cue! If you have an idea, please post it! Thanks! -Josh

one more bump for september!

Are there any other resources I should be trying to identify this cue with? Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Nobody said it yet but something tells me possibly early Jim buss. I think a talk with him may be helpful

Forearm is Birdseye. Birdseye has eyes on two opposite sides, and the other sides are curly. True curly is curly all around.

In Birdseye, the curly part is actually the side view of the Birdseyes, which tend to do deep into, or entirely through the wood.\

Thanks for your time Mr. Buss! It sounds like you are not inclined to suspect this is one of yours, am I correct?

EDIT: Thanks for taking the time to have a look at this one!

To the rest: the search continues. Thanks for everyone's suggestions so far. Anybody else have any thought to offer?

The list of people who did not make this cue just keeps getting longer... so by the process of elimination does that mean I am getting closer to finding out who did make it? I sure hope so and welcome thoughts or suggestions from anyone who has them. Thanks!
