If it doesn't turn out like you hope, you can rewrap it black. In 55 years I have accumulated over 20 colors from Blue Mountain and Hurlbert. No matter what color you use it is easily changed.I am thinking of dying it. That's what I did on the other McDermott.
A few years? Re-dye it. Easy.I had a dye job that wore though after only few years (It was a black with white specks originally). I suggest black EE for the win!!
Black cork or natural?I would like to have a cork wrap on that one.
I would go black.Help me decide the wrap!
Leave it as is, or do it in black?
I don't know how to do a poll, so just respond in the linked thread. I can leave the wrap as it is, or do it in black.
If you want to know what this is all about, go to the first post in that thread.
Here is the cue:
Got another one!
I think it is a version of the McDermott E-F5, with the wrap that goes all the way to the points (the wrap usually stops short) and black joint collar and butt cap instead of gray (usually gray, sometimes black). In fact the butt cap and butt sleeve look like one black piece on this one.
So here is a thought: I think this would look better with a black wrap. What do you think?

For comparison, I did the black wrap on this McDermott EK-1.

Martin aka @jazznpool here, has this offering according to his website.A few years? Re-dye it. Easy.
I love genuine EE. I don't like a faked leather print.
I don't think this cue merits genuine EE, but certainly another might.
That's pretty interesting.Martin aka @jazznpool here, has this offering according to his website.
Black Shrunken Grain Goat, $40/ $37 dozen (New--more supple than Spanish Bull). Limited supply.

Always keep that open mind Doc!!Loving the ideas!
I started out thinking to go black...to fit with the theme of this part of my collection.
Almost bought a custom to go with this set but it sold.
Definitely considering options...
How did that turn out??I am thinking of dying it. That's what I did on the other McDermott.
It was a bit more than just a dye job. The wrap was a bit trashed but intact. I dyed it, then used some leather products to finish it. I think it's amazing. My daughter plays with it and absolutely loves the wrap. How did that turn out??
Stack leather? Here is an example which I am going out on a limb a little bit. Cue stick looks very good with the black speckled Irish linen, but I just sent it out to be redone with a leather wrap. I just feel the stick was a bit unimpressive , lacking a little pizzazz , so I thought I would try to Spruce it up a bit. It is a Pechauer that has very good grain look to it , but could use a little flair. The photos below show the stick as I sent it out, and the wrap I intend to put on it. Any thoughts? Feel free to elaborate!
