Help me pick a wrap

Here is a few picks of my Mike Capone. I have hardly used it because I do not like the eel print leather (it is shiny and slick). I am thinking of sending it to "Flyingsnail" (Kenny) to put a new wrap on it. I was thinking of a regular leather or white with black speck irish linen. Help me decide. I like the tackier leather as well as irish linen, just want to know what you guys think would look better. Thanks.

I would just send the cue to Kenny and have him do whatever he feels like it. You will not be sorry. Just make sure you tell him what your budget is ;)

Of the two choices I would go with the reg. leather in black,I am not a fan of the white linen with black speck. on darker cues.
If I were having it done I think I would go with black linen with red specks. With that cue,I think you could probably wrap it in cardboard and it would still look great

Really just a personal choice. I've never been comfortable actually playing with anything but irish linen, but I like Teja print leather on my breaker. Weird, but it's what I prefer.

To get some ideas, Pete Ohman has several different examples of leather wraps here.

I sent my Omen to Pete and left the choice of wrap to him.
You can see pics of it here (scroll to bottom).

If I was going to go leather I agree with Tony, let Kenny pick what looks best from his stock. If it were me I think that cue is screaming classic green and white speck courtland style linen.

Nice cue.

Thanks for the suggestions and compliments. I took it to be shipped today to Kenny. Will go out tomorrow. I told him to give me some ideas when he gets it. I would also appreciate any more suggestions from my fellow AZ'ers. Thanks again.

Black shrunken bull would look good and feel good too. Kenny Koo has some in stock, I believe.

Slick?

If you don't like a slick wrap, and alot of people don't, I would look at Elephant Ear. It looks great and is not at all shiny or slick.

id agree with tommie too, i think elephant ear wrap would look cool with the cue :)

very nice looking cue btw

If it's genuine Eel, it is super thin and whoever does the rewrap will have to cut the wrap groove to match the thickness of the new wrap.

I Have a friend that has a capone with a boars hide wrap. Like Phillippi and Samsara uses. It looks and feels great. I would definitely suggest it. You can go to Joe's site and check them out on some samsara's. Here is the link http://www.bamacues.com/id4.html
