Help with attaching a Hager extension.......

I cut mine to fit my case. Remove the silver metal cap at the end of the nylon mesh and carefully with a razorblade cut the inch from the end that the cap was on. While holding everything together epoxy the cap on the end that was cut. The mesh is hard to cut even with the razorblade, be very careful and be sure to cut the plastic tube also.

Thanks Tommy. Shortening the extension never crossed my mind. Truth
be told, I'd probably mess it up. I think that I may just stick a velcro pad/
square on each end and the other onto the case. Hopefully, that will hold
up until I see what Mr. Hager comes up with to attach to my case. Thanks
again all for your input. I'll keep thinking about it for now. Any other ideas,
are more than welcome.

It would be nice if it was something to hook or clip onto a case.Maybe something like a string that attaches to the bottom(right where he has his name) and then you could attach it to the strap of your case via a hook. Just food for thought.

Go to a small tailor shop and get them to make you a cloth pouch with a velcro strap, and strap it to the outside of your case. They have lots of scraps laying around and would probably whip you one up while you wait.

I was thinking about something like that too except maybe just drilling a
hole into the side of the tube right by the edge where the mesh comes
out. Then using one of those gadgets at the end of most sholder straps
on duffle bags to attach it to the loop where the shoulder strap attaches
onto the case. Then just let it dangle. Yep, another option. I still like it
being velcro'd with 2 small patches, but I dont know what kind of mess
would be left if I decided to try to remove the velcro at a later time.

I bought a 20" extension at the DCC this year, ended up buying a Its George case that has a 20" pocket on it. As far as I know Its George is the only case company that makes a case with a 20" pocket, it does work great though....Tom

equip.

Get a couple of scrunchies like the girls use for their hair, get the right size, problem solved.

I'm thinking of punching a hole in the bottom end of the extension, and then putting a clip/hinge on my case that will fit. Probably one of those locking bolt clips or rock climbing clips.

The velcro idea seems good, but I could see losing it without knowledge.

Does your cue case have a handle in the middle that's attached to the case?

Mine does and I stick the extension between the straps that are attached to the case and handle. Fits perfectly, is snug, and my fingers still barely fit between the handle and the extension when I carry the case by the handle.

I now use a length of parachute cord attached to the handle that's just long enough to tie a clove hitch around the extension to give it enough friction so it won't slide out when traveling. Works fine but is time consuming to untie and tie properly (as such I always untie it before a match so I can have quick access to it if needed).

Think I'll try replacing the tie cord with one of my wife's scrunchies (per someone's suggestion above) and see if that holds just as well and easier to use. If your handle is very loose, you might try using two scrunchies (one on each end of the handle straps).

Great stuff guys, Thanks! Now the handle thing wont work for me because
I have the old Predator case and its just a plastic/rubber handle with some
mesh/nylon attachments going from the handle into the side of the case.
I will look around the house for some scrunchies though.

I think a nylon like bag with a hook on it would work too. Something to put the extension in and drawstring on it to close.
