Picked this Nova cue up yesterday. Pretty nice SP. Points are surprisingly even. SS joint with rings. Cues appears to be straight together and apart. Normal wear and tear. Shaft could use a cleaning. Easily in the 90-95% range. Its pretty clean. A played a few hours with it last night and its real solid player.

I noticed a couple of different signatures for Nova cues when I searched the forum here. A fancier more block like signature and this basic lowercase cursive style. A few questions?

Can anyone approximate a build year by the signature or narrow it down by decade?

I'm not familiar with the cue maker so any info there would be helpful?

A value? Rarity? I really couldn't find anything to fairly compare it to here.

I don't need the cue so I'd consider selling or trading it if it in fact has any marketable value. If not I'll just keep it as a house cue. Thanks for any info.

Your cue was made by Nubs Wagner between 1994-1997. Nubs was with Schon and Mc Dermott and made a nice hitting cue. He has been out of business for several years and lives in Kentucky these days. His later cues had a very unique dymondwood insert in the shaft. I've always thought they play like a Schon on steroids. I used one as my primary playing cue for about eight years.

With an approximate market value around 350ish I'll take offers up or down from there. I've had a few offers in the 200 range but I don't think I'll sell it for that cheap. Might as well hang on to it at that point. Its a great blank. The points are pretty even, not 100% perfect, but as good as I've seen on a conversion.

Predominately interested in trades?

Would be willing to trade up with cash. 100-150ish with cue if it was a significant deal.

If I don't do something in the next 24-48 hours I'll save it for another time.

I don't know how accurate my scale is but it weighed in just under 20oz. Right above 19 3/4oz. Its a pretty cheap scale so I can't attest to the accuracy.

For what it's worth I typically play around 19.5oz - 20oz and this cue feels pretty spot on.

13.18mm.

I think I replied to everyone's PMs if I missed a PM send me one again.

So far I've had some very reasonable cash offers and a few mildly interesting trade offers. Still kinda mulling it all over.

Slightly longer than 58'' tip to bumper. Had a deal pending but it doesn't look like its going to go through.

I suggest you keep your personal issues to personal messages. PM returned.
