As you are in Asia, I would maybe go to one of the Asian Pool Forums, and ask the Question.

Are you looking for monetary sponsorship or product sponsorship? A product sponsor isn't to hard to get but a monetary sponsor can be very difficult.

Either way your first step is to make companies aware of what you want and what you can bring to the table. If they don't know, they can't really help you. So contact them by email or phone, or better yet in person. But chance are if they don't know you or your reputation the odds are you wont get any money from them.

thanks for the comment Sir.
monetary sponsorship is more like it.
does company such like Seyberts and etc etc do monetary sponsorship?
this is not for me sir. just helping friend.

I think you need to say who it is, without that its hard to say as each player has different qualities and places to market them. So who is it??

If he's a former world champion, I would think he already has this knowledge.

some people just haven't got the chance to meet the right guy to to the right thing for them. and, he is one of those guys. :D
i do not have experience in this industry, so here i am asking for AZs' advice

Really

Why the secrecy in the name of this world champion? As far as sponsorship there alot of billiard products you can try. The main problem is its usually short lived since the player really doesnt ad any value or profit to the company. So in turn becomes a donation of good will and a money pit for the company. The best chance you have is with a new product, they are usually looking for the most exposure they can get. So will take the initial lost as a investment toward getting the product known.

Seyberts is not in a position to offer monetary sponsorship. They already sponsor several players with product. If you're looking for monetary sponsorship, try going to the Chinese table manufacturers...especially since you're already in Asia. BTW...your "friend" should be identified. If he really is a 'former world champion' we already will know who he is...so why the secrecy?

Step 1: Identify potential sponsors
Step 2: Contact potential sponsors to determine whether or not there is interest
Step 3: Submit a professionally written proposal which includes the following:

  • Who you are
  • What you've done
  • Why the company is a good match
  • How your sponsorship will benefit the sponsor
  • A concrete discussion of how the sponsorship will be ROI positive for the sponsor

Step 4: Do not take rejection of your proposal personally
Step 5: Repeat Steps 1 to 4 until you find success

This is not meant to be obnoxious or snarky in any way. This is simply the process. If you can't show a potential sponsor how the relationship will be profitable, there isn't much reason to reach out to any company. As for potential targets, I'd probably start with the BCA member list and go from there.

Please note that this is not a request for a sponsorship proposal, as PoolDawg is not looking to sponsor players at this time.
