I have been fortunate to acquire a few nice cues in 2005. Here are four of them. The centerpieces are the Joel Herceks in the middle. The Hoppe-style is the best playing cue I've ever used - for me. It simply feels perfect in my hands (and lord knows my game needs all the help it can get!); weight, length, balance point, shaft diameter, etc. I've always loved nicely pressed (but not slick) Irish linen best. But, Joel's smooth leather has a great feel and a virtually invisible seam. I may be converted! And, as TommyT said in his thread, Joel is one of the best people I've ever dealt with, inside or outside of pool.

The other two are a Michael Capone and a Tim Scruggs and they both play great also.

I am enough of a newbie/geek that it's also cool to me that two of these are pictured in the new Blue Book. :o

Hope you like them.

Love the cues!

Did you order the cues directly from Joel? If so, then how long was your wait? I got on his list earlier this year, so in 7 or 8 years....

No. I got them on the used market. I meant to put the following info about the Herceks in the original post.....

The coco was made in 1998 for a man in Tennessee.
The Hoppe was made in 2002 for a man in the NE.
The invisible one is made for ME in 2011, when my name bubbles to the top of Joel's list. Right before Koop's name! :p

I love the look of the hoppe Hercek. The inlay work on the rosewood? Hercek is great too! I love the style of his slotted diamonds. I'm on his list, but I'm patiently waiting for a nice one to come along on the secondary market, one with an ivory joint. Nice collection there Scott!

man love those cues, especially the hercek and the scruggs. Im hoping to pick up a scruggs or frey sp before too long, and im on the hercek list too, prob about 5 years away. I hope im playing well enough and have enough money by then to afford it lol

Think you're funny huh? :D

We'll see who has the last laugh when Dennis and Joel both pick me first..
Nya Nya!

That one cue is made from the curliest curly maple I've seen. For a newbie you're certainly starting at the top. All are beautiful IMO.

Wow! Very nice collection.
The Hercek cue is something I have been after for a while on the secondary market.
Still looking and saving as I wait for my number to come up with Joel.
Maybe the next decade.

Thanks for posting.

thanks for putting up the pics!
Did you get the titlist yet??

Offer still stands

If anyone is in the Chicago area and wants to try a Hercek let me know. I have a flat faced linnen piloted ivory and a piloted Stainless. My preference is the stainless although they all have their merits.

If you want to get rid of the flat faced Hercek let me know.

Could you send me Kodak photos of the cues side by side, both of the fronts and the butts? Add a price list too?

Jim

Yeah, I should come up in 2010 or so. Later than some and sooner than others. Hopefully I can finish school and make some money so I can get one to try out before my name comes up!

Does anyone know if, and if so how many, 60" cues Hercek has made?!
