My guess is it's one of Paul's customs. I am not sure. I have 2 cataloge cues of his. They sure do play well. Nice looking cue you have there.

Mark, that was my thought..it hits like a dream..and the mother of pearl is oh so nice.;). The guy I bought it off of said he had it for several years..I paid a bit for it, but as I had never seen one in the books, I thought it might be ok..It is.

Huebler

Of course it is..and I am dyslectic..Sometimes I see several variations of the same shot before I shoot.About half of the working machinists in the world are dyslectic..go figure.

We were a Huebler dealer for years. I agree its probably a custom. He did a lot of them for a one guy shop. Some were for tournament prizes. Some for customers. Hold on to it. I wish I had a dozen Hueblers I had kept. I only have one personal cue now.

look under the bumper.....some of his customs said "HUEBLER CUSTOM SHOP" stamped on the bottom face of the buttcap.

I have read this thread and the responses to your questions. The may be a limited edition with only a small number made but it is not a Huebler Custom.

Cues that were built as Customs were marked under the cues bumper Custom Shop By Huebler or Huebler Custom Shop and there would be a date. The marking on your cues butt identifies it as a production model made during the 1990's, before that logo was used they used Huebler USA and this logo was used starting in the early 1980's. Before that logo was used the logo was horizontal and it just said Huebler, and the earliest cues were marked with a H-?, depending upon the model number some were marked H-2 or other numbers.

I actually had one of Paul's earliest designs, and I bought it brand new at Cue and Cushion in Overland, Mo in 1974 or 1975.

I hope this helps, and I am positive on the information I have given above.

Good information!
Weren't some of the first cues not marked at all? Did he make some when he was still a salesman for a billiard company (A.E. Schmidt?), before he started the Huebler company?

Yes, they just had round stickers on them and a model number. They were pretty basic cues. I had one a while back that was a Hoppe style (shown below) .

Chris that is really a nice cue buddy, even though it is kinda Basic. Did the cue have the Nylon Insert in the shaft? Most of the earliest cues I have seen when I was living in ST. Louis did have an insert.

Thanks for sharing Chris
