Hey Mr. Wilson!

Purdman

Banned
Keep up the good work. You must remember that you will never be able to make everybody happy. So be it. I think you are doing a wonderful thankless job. Being popular does not grant anyone special privileges.

I havent said a word about any of this, but as a Pastor I see this stuff every single day of my life, and it isnt behind a computer screen either.

The one big thing I keep seeing is people keep refering to the one post That got Jimbo banned , but Mr Wilson has clearly stated the fact that he has asked and warned until he was tired of asking and warning....so he gave him a choice to apologize or to be banned and though it may have seemed like an unfair choice it was still a choice....and Jimbo made the choice!

I like to hear Jimbos knowledge, but not so much his attitude, but he has never said anything to me, and I would have liked for him to stay as well, but he CHOSE not to.....we all make tuff choices everyday, and many of our own choices are " forced" so to speak but we make the choices and live with the results.

I have seen alot of asking for Jimbo to be back and so on.....but how about this....Jimbo was "convicted" so to speak,( wether you think fairly or not ) so if you guys really want him back that bad, why not ask Mr Wilson to give him another chance to make the choice of apologizing instead of being banned ( wether you think he should or not, that was what was asked of him ) and see what Jimbo chooses to do? Looks to me like that would get you guys further in your cause to return Jimbo , than calling for Mr Wilson to resign, or starting 25 threads about missing him.( no one seems to have offered this as an option)

Call it " parole" or whatever but give him the choice to come back by apologizing and leave him on stike 2 and let him come back that way everybody wins, nobody loses face or power.....and we can finally put this situation to rest of wether or not Jimbo actually wants to participate under the rules and authority given to Mr Wilson. After a set amount of time let him go down to strike one, and then none and so on.....because as it stands right now he is gone and no amount of posting or insulting Mr Wilson is going to Bring him back....so why not try this instead.

WHAT SAY YOU....AND HOW ABOUT IT MR WILSON ? GIVE HIM THE CHANCE OF DOING WHAT WAS ASKED OF HIM AND PUT THE BURDEN ON HIM?

LIKE I said guys/gals its none of my buisness. I just hadnt seen this option and thought it may be a way to put this whole issue to bed........

OK CARRY ON :D :D :D Didnt mean to disrupt ;) ;)

My view

Jimbo doesn't need this Forum.

If his convictions are such that he does not wish to apologize, which appears to be the issue, so be it. After going back and forth with and watching Jimbo do it with others, I feel it was his form of sharking.

We all have done it one time or another when matched up, or in league play!! You attempt to get over your opponent with a form of Jimbo's ways. Weather verbal, or visual, we each have our way of dealing with it. But, this is an adult arena, have any of you been barred from a pool room for sharking?? Been suspended form league for getting up from your seat when the oponent is lining up that straight hsot on the 9??

What Jimbo did was in my mind a shark tactic, What Mr Wilson did was take his ball and go home.. The playing field will never be the same.

His dry wit, and barbed attacks were mostly in jest. although he has what I feel were valid points on many issues, he still was and always will be Jimbo

YES Daytona Joe He did have some very good points about things! And like others have already pointed out he had a very " special way" of giving those points out :) :)

I still think my idea would work, and the forum could keep what is liked about him and the sharp barbs could become a thing of the past , or only with those who would enjoy/understand/tolerate such barbs.......as we have found out from this entire situation, some people arent as enthused about recieving his knowledge/experience when accompanied with said " barbs" ;)

Its like everything else in life, there is always good and bad with EVERY CHOICE we make.....and those choices tend to affect those around us more than we realize sometimes! :) :)

I agree!

I think the forum has improved greatly since Mr. Wilson became the moderator. He has done a great job keeping the forum a place to exchange knowledge, which is the reason the majority of us come here. Thank you, sir.

Sincerely,
Ed

I bet Mr Wilson never new there were so many clones of Dennis the Menace out there!!! Personally, I think that all those that have been banned either permanently or not were given PLENTY of chances to BEHAVE or BEGONE..
Keep up the good work Mr Wilson!

That's a pretty sad view of pool players. The majority of players do not shark IMHO.

i think mr wilson does a great job with what he can.. its gotta be really really hard to take care of this entire place by himself.. i for one know how hard it is to read every post.. i miss quite alot of them..

all he needs is some help...

and i think it would also be a big help if everybody remained civil all the time.. but we all know thats impossible.. everybody has to remember we are all grown ups.. :)

I have to say I do think Mr.Willson does a good job.But as in anything in life there is always a way to do it better, and if some one can come up with a better way than I'm all for it.I hope no one will think I am bashing Mr.Willson.

Barry, I think that if you do not like the way this forum is run, you should try the SoCal site. Then you just might appriciate what Mr. Wilson has to put up with and what he does. You have not been here long enough (unless you were a lurker) to understand what has gone on here. There are certain persons here who instigate trouble with him. When he responds, they say he is watching them and looking for a reason to ban them. They keep it up anyway. I have been here for years. I have contributed a great deal of money and products to support Az projects. I make one comment about a narcissistic wanna be groupie and everything I have done is out the window. I am mean now. I have shown more heart here than anybody.
I will miss JimBo's input but not his attitude. There is a small group here of unhappy posters. Hey, go someplace else if you don't like it. Yeah, I know this post ain't gonna make me any more popular. That's OK with me guys. I will keep doing what I am doing. Working hard, helping those less fortunate than myself, and taking good care of my loved ones.

TAP, TAP, TAP !!!!!!!! Very well put Roger. You have a wonderful way with words. TBA was an asset and Mr. Wilson is an ass. Can't we let the Gimp out for a few minutes? That would take care of Wilson. I can just picture it now. The Gimp got Wilson all bent over a barrel, laced with whips and chains and leather, just giving him "What Fer" and then the banjos start playing and the Gimps buddys show up hollering "You look just like a hog Wilson". WEEeeeee, WEEeeeeee! WEEEeeeee!
Oh well, I better get some coffee in me now.

After reading all your pompous BS about moderating and bottom dwellers, and the smell Mr. Wilson, I shall now refer to you as OZ. The all powerful all knowing wizard of self importance. Happens everytime, give a little rat some power and off to the races we go. I don't like it one dam bit and don't mind saying so. DM contributed more to this board than you ever will. What else do you do besides sit there and look for somebody to unleash you new found powers on. What a nit! You have several posters here who are only here to sell their crap or promote their cause. They have bribed Mike with cues and are promoting that scumbags tour. That my friend is the sewer that AZ is becoming. Bought and paid for by bottom feeding scumbags. When they took all the fat out of beef, you were left with beef that tasted like crap. That reminds me of what you are doing OZ. So freaking ban me caus ya can't take it.

Wow! That is pretty funny stuff. I guess somewhere in the last few months Purdman had a change of heart. I wonder if he got banned by Mr. Wilson back then. What he said is about 100 times worse than what JimBo said. Maybe he could get banned retroactively and then he could come back and sing some more praises for Mr. Wilson. At any rate it is pretty funny to see the flip flop, a true blue born again Mr Wilson lover.

Someone should find Purdman an appropriate avatar for his fish flop stance on issues. "shown more heart than anyone". That is another quote that just sticks out at me. How has Purdman shown more heart?

The overall high quality of this message board is a direct reflection of the time and effort put into it by Mr. Wilson. It's also the reason why so many knowledgeable players, collectors, and buyers come here.

Like being a referee, sometimes the moderator takes a punch as well.

Mostly, it's a thankless job, and one that goes unnoticed until someone gets banned.

OR
If someone unpopular is banned they get cheered, but if they have to ban someone that is popular, like now, well....they hear quite a bit.

Well said, I respect your opinion, but respectfully have to disagree.

Mr. Wilson, IMO, was dared. He warned and warned. He then offered an option.

The decision was made with full knowledge of the consequences. He was given a choice and should live with his decision, just as Mr. Wison has to live with his.

I feel it isn't fair to ask Mr. Wison to compromise his already very difficult decision. There comes a point where the madness has to stop.

I've never met Dave Wilson, but I would wager that he has lost his sleep over this too. That is one of the reasons he is in this position, I would furtherly wager.

To get to my point, I feel this is a battle he can't lose. But then again, nobody wins.
