It was the last cue Gus made before he passed. I do not know the details of the cue or even if it was completely finished, but Highedncues (Ken Kerner) and Cuaba have both reported that it sold for a huge amount and it's the highest known sale of a cue. I don't know who owns it, but my guess is someone overseas in the Pacific area.

Hey Chris,
This has always been a topic that comes up now and again..
You are correct.. The highest cue sale was for the "Last Work" of Gus Szamboti.. I sold this cue for the Szamboti family about 4 years ago..
It is far and away the top SOLD cue.. Details are confidential of course..
The other 2 Big dogs (Golden Bushka, '66 Gina) haven't hit the market, so there selling value hasn't been determinded yet.. In my opinion these 3 cues will always chase each other for the top spot as time passes..
