Two part survey:
What was the longest run you ever witnessed in person?
What was the longest run ever achieved against you?
My answers:
229 Evgeny Stalev, 2014, Steinway Billiards, World 14. 1 (unofficial)*
225 Cicero Murphy, 1964, Hicksville, NY**
200 Darren Appleton, 2013, Steinway Billiards, World 14.1**
*I'm not sure this was the final count; Stalev kept going after his match was finished.
** Exhibition Match against Jimmy Cattrano
*** Semi-Finals against Francisco Bustamante
100 Mike "Fingers" Badsteubner, RAXX Pool Room, March 1 2020

Witnessed: 420 by John Schmidt during his high-run attempts.

Suffered: 100-and-out by Thorsten Hohmann in one of Peter Burrows' tournaments. There's a YouTube video. About 25 minutes. I think Orcullo may have done 100 on me as well.

Irving Crane 141 balls early '60's in Elizabeth N.J. and it was not West End.
The longest run against me was by Neptune Joe Frady (RIP).
He was playing me 100 to 80.
He broke and I ran 53 balls and missed.
He ran 100 and out.

1.) 438 made by my friend and team-mate in 1991 Ingo Schweden
2.) 438 made by same guy :)

his personal high run- witnessed the "last 400" balls- all in all 526- so I joined the run when he was on 126- to end at 526.

The highest run I've ever watched in person is 86. Sometimes I need people in my area to participate straight pool with to achieve a remarkable history but that isn't too popular here

Highest Derby City qualifying run I've witnessed live: Josh Filler, 285

Highest run I've witnessed live in competition: Jack Colavita, 245

Highest practice run I've witnessed live: Mika Immonen, 267

Highest run by a man playing against me: Tony Robles, 209

Highest run by a woman playing against me: Jeanette Lee, 152

PS To the original poster. Stalev's run at Steinway was 224, but much of it was a practice run occurring after he'd already reached the finish line.

Reactions: bbb
In Tulsa back in mid-80'sish Dick Lane was giving a good local named Bob Baldwin 150-to-100. Bob was cruising 97-13 when he missed. Dick hit him with a smooth 137. Bob was so mad that when Dick ran a rack he said "You rack the fkn balls Dick you're running em".
