Try a shot glass with a white ring and place one in each corner.

Holy crap, that's genius!

(I'm a bartender...I should know)

lol, really, though. I love this experienced based knowledge.

Wow, here is guy who is actually thinking of ways to verify work beyond the normal methods. Funny thing is I think he is on the right track. Pat has an open mind which is a key ingredient for improvement. I mentioned that I use precision ground blocks in a previous post and I guess I can show another way how I use them now. This is a Fell Precision level accurate to .0005. Picture says it all.

You guys are spending WAY too much! I went to Wal-Mart, got a set of Tupperware bowls and a Sharpie Marker. You mark the level on the bowl and then fill it with water to the mark. I use 30 of them at strategic points around the table.

My system is accurate to the width of the Sharpie line with the ceiling fan off. LOL

are you kiddin ? sharpie line gotta be .030" or so, yet a starrett is
+-.0005" !!! maybe close is good enuf ??? BTW , how you get they level line in the bottom of the bowl to start with ?? I'll just hang on to the Starrett until rocket science improves
