his weakness is not being honest

On any real close call I invite my opponent to call someone to watch the hit. Otherwise they are trying to watch me hit it and it's gonna be a shark or an accident.

Any time I foul I say so. Orcullo has been here before. He knows what happened.

Not always....there's a Pro match/Reno??? years ago with Mike Massey. It's his shot and it was not BIH.

Think of this moment....like shooting stripes when you've got solids, we've all done it once, and if not you need to play more.

Anywho ....Mike took allot of time to study the layout and such to begin his run, but the cue ball wasn't perfect but............all of a sudden, Mike moved the cue ball a couple inches with his hand  to get perfect.
Both he and his opponent did not realize ''being in the moment'' that a foul had occurred. Concentration and focus can be so directed to the moment in this game, that one doesn't realize their mistake. I've had opponents that have called a foul on me when I didn't realize I had done it, and if the person I was playing was of solid character, I would ask them to explain and most always I would give the shot back.

Dechaine was never shy to call a ref over for a shot, so he must have thought one was observing.

orcollo stood up and tried to shark mika during the last rack in world cup of pool betwen finland an Phillipines. Mika got really pissed. There's a dark side to dennis.

Whatever it takes....old school ways, not good for the sport or life.

Your right that type of action protects both players the sport and ones character. It puts the shooter in a bad light if he did NOT see/realize the foul (in reality) then others might''assume'' you knew it and did intentionally not call it on yourself. Once that "Rumormill" starts churning, others will call you a cheat and so on, no one wants that on their character.

In the BCAPL rule book, the shooting player is not allowed to call a referee to watch their own hit..........but thinking about how much this incident can effect others, I think it should strongly be considered, if it's not a pro rule already.

If I am trying something that I know will be a close hit, I try to get someone to watch the hit even if the opponent does not say anything. I don't want to have to judge a close call in my favor, I'd feel like I cheated. I actually had one hit where myself, the guy I called to watch the hit and the opponent were not totally sure I made a good hit. I felt I did not and handed the cueball to the other player even though I would have been in the right to say "too close to call for sure goes to the shooter".

It's not the first time I have read or heard about Dennis pulling a fast one. Although that time he jumped up at Mika, I think he really thought that only 2 balls made it past the line due to how they collided. I could see why he started to protest to make sure it was a legal break, that was not a "move".

There's some good ideas within this ''thread'' and the others....be nice if the powers that be ''take notes'' and also ask the players what they like/dislike.

He jumped up as mika was ready to shoot, if it was real protest, he would have jumped up after break right away. He waited until he could get into mikas mind right before the shot. Definitely a move.

That's the way I took it.

Anybody doubts it just go find the match on YT and watch it again. Dennis looked like he was sleeping in his chair, well after Mika was getting ready for his next shot. All of a sudden he springs out of his chair just before Mika is set to shoot. Then Michaela gets on Mika's case instead of Dennis. Dennis just gives that, "What.. ME?" look like he's all innocent. IMO it was a move for sure.

Definite move and Mika shut him down hard. He waited like half a minute.

Integrity

This is why P.G.A. golfers play for $ millions ,they have integrity call rules violations on themselves. Sponsors dont want the bs in pool.

If anyone believes that Dennis grazed the 8 and didn't immediately realize based on how the 2 ball behaved...I've got a bridge to sell ya. I can see if he shirt-fouled a ball leaning over w/o noticing, but fouling another object ball with BALL IN HAND???

Give me a break.

All good cause Mike is gonna torch his a $$ in a few hours. Hope he beats him badly. Karma.

How do you explain the NFL?

That's easy. The officials hand out heavy penalties for illegal actions. Virtually all organized sports have officials, refs, umpires, etc. to keep players in line, so it's become an accepted part of the game for most viewers that bad behavior/illegal actions will be punished.

In pool, however, there is usually not a ref standing there watching each shot, so players must behave like gentlemen and police themselves. Even in pro matches there is rarely a ref watching the entire game. Too bad - it really classes up the game - but the money in pro pool simply is not there yet for an army of trained refs to follow the tourneys.

occolo was on top of the ball and his action showed that he knew it was a bad hit "not his first time"

I will not defend a bad action! i will give the benefit of the doubt though to DO!

I wish DO, come out and say, look you all, i was not aware that i fouled earlier, but to be a fair player, i am giving two games on the wire to MD on our next match! man that will be epic!

It all sounds good however I don't see a lineman raising his hand after a touchdown saying he was holding. Or a outfielder saying he trapped the ball on the game winning out ,, or a tennis player saying his foot was on the line on his match winning serve
I could go on all day ,

Since when has the game of pool been a game of honor and integrity
Ding ding ding ,,,, never

Since when has the game of pool been a game of honor and integrity. Well that pretty much sums up the legacy of pool the last 40-50 years. And people say whats wrong with pool. How come no-one respects our sport. Pool is tremendously fun to play but absolutely boring to watch.
